Damn!! thats a very good price lol, so to pick up an 8.5 for the same price as an 8 is a great deal, I wouldnt be suprised in an 8.5 is worth $1200-14000 given that last 8 sale and the last two PSA 9 sales hitting close to 20k
@dalewilliamson,tyty I’ve probably stared at it once a day for a couple days now haha. Just got in raw 1st ed charmander charmeleons that i think are going to be good buddies to it. coming back to pokemon is nostalgic .
I messaged the seller to see if buyer paid, Im a little suspicious about the sale seems to good to be true considering if it was graded with PSA i think your looking at a PSA 7 at best
I’d be careful with this card. I saw it when it came up for sale and the stamp looks fake to me. Maybe I’m over cautious as I got stung a few years ago on a fake stamp charizard graded by GMA.
I agree anywhere between 12-15k seems a fair valuation atm, glad i got my 8 back when it was 1800 lol butn am looking to upgrade to a 9 in the next month!!
Jeez. I think when I bought my 8 in May at $7300 it was a new record price point. No one ever wants to brag that they are the BUYER paying the new high. Lol.
With these prices- is there anyone here with a psa 10 that is considering selling?- I ask- because I know normally the folks here would hold tight to a card like that- but prices have gone crazy.
I have a great 9 I was hoping to upgrade to a 10. Not sure that ever happens now.
to be honest, right now people have been conditioned to the fact that the psa 10 is going to keep rising in price (and rise fast), so i am not sure 85k will hold for long. if our stagnant economies continue, people will want to continue to look to the asset market like pokemon to park money.
but a 9 is still a coveted piece. it is the most accessible high grade 1st ed charizard, so demand should keep growing there.
when the psa 10 hits 500k, the 9 will probably be in the neighborhood of 75-100k. not too bad, eh? i think i would grow uneasy holding onto half a million dollars or maybe a house in a single cardboard.
Has the 85k been confirmed? That is a confirmed transaction? And you are right! I am thrilled to have my 9… especially since it is nicer than the last 4 10s I have seen.
For years, every time I saw this card reach a new price point I shook my head. Always thought it was an overvalued card. I scoffed at the idea of paying $5k for a PSA 9. Then I ironically paid nearly double that for a PSA 9 months ago. Funny how things just change.
