(108/S-P) Zarude V Garigari-kun Promo

I wanted to discuss (and make a small guide) the market price of Zarude V Garigari-kun promo since the price of this card has been going crazy lately. It has increased over 100% since it’s launch.

As some of you already know, there was a topic already of this card: Not-a-Pikachu icecream collaboration promo

Starting from June 1, 2020, a collaboration between Ice cream brand Garigari-kun and the upcoming Pokémon the Movie Coco is going on.

You can enter a lottery by buying these boxes of their ‘Adult Garigari-kun Golden Pine(apple)’ ice popsicles and see if you won or not on the popsicle stick. You can potentially win a Garigari-kun × Pokémon Card Game Crossover card.

There are no print numbers, end date and drop rate made available (yet). We don’t know how many copies are floating around in Japan. Last month, there was a new wave of garigari-kun x pokemon card campaign ice cream boxes made available in stores again in late July after there were rumours the campaign ended. I haven’t seen pictures recently of people in Japan buying tons of these boxes again on social media.

We can assume this is a rather limited card anyway.

When buying the Zarude V promo, make sure to have the letter from garigari-kun included (see photo’s).

Price

The winning sticks were selling for around 13000-17000 yen in the beginning and the first promo’s when being released were also selling for 15000-19000 yen on Japanese auction websites.

Price now as of August 16, 2020: It’s selling for between 40000-50000 yen.

16 days ago, there was 1 card shop buying this card for 36000 yen.

I really like the stamp (I don’t like the card) but what makes me so hesitant to buy one is that its no way to know how many there are! I hope one day soon we can get a number so I can feel more confident in a purchase

I picked up my copy for 18,000 yen as soon as they started hitting the market. I was surprised by the sudden price increase after that though. I had intended on getting a second copy but have held off.

The price has more than doubled since the last time I checked ($200)

FYI, almost all Pokémon cards have doubled lately.

And I agree with the above, I like the stamp, but the card not too much. Thanks for sharing either way. Is there also a non-stamped version available of the 108/S-P promo, or do all of them have the stamp?

Greetz,

Sort of. It was printed in a normal pokemon set (legendary heartbeat), where the artwork is identical but it was not released as a promo unlike the stamped version so it’s 013/076 in the set. The 108 specifically ties to the promo with the stamp, so I don’t think they have one that’s 108 without the stamp.

I’m excited!

I have my slightly damaged copy coming in that I paid I think $250 for?

It has slight edgeware…

my only misgivings with some (RR) v cards is that the black border foil tends to have a bit of edgewear or it appears as if you can peel the foil. All in all I think the garigari-kun promo is cool.
