Does anyone know whether blister packs from the Duel Monsters and GX eras are hobby or retail? My assumption is they are retail, but figured I would ask.
Huge respect gained for Troll and Toad. Last week they listed 2 1st ed Toon Chaos boxes for $110 each (which is the unlim price). I immediately snipped them. The package arrived today and to my surprise I actually received 2 1st ed boxes! They easily could have cancelled the order and claim they made a mistake but instead they honored the order. Much kudos to them.
I’ve had similarly positive experiences with T&T. There are so many negative reviews of them online but if you know what to expect going in (i.e., loose condition standards), then they’ll rarely disappoint. They’re pretty honest and reliable, in my experience.
Big difference between those and NA 1st Ed. Asian-english is essentially japanese cards just with english text instead. European was printed later than the original prints. Think it was even after NA got the unlim print so it essentially would be the equivalent if wizards stuck 1st ed logos on 1999-2000 base print cards.
The cards themselves are easily distinguishable as well. AE cards have japanese backs and European have an E in the card code (i.e. the code would be LOB-E001 instead of just LOB-001).
Technically that European box was made in the USA (since it has the square Konami logo). The same 1st edition box with the red bar logo (made in Belgium) would be a lot rarer. The demand for them is clearly a lot inferior to the North American print though.
@chok, Where’s that rumor coming from? More importantly, wouldn’t the person who submits 300 dds Blue-Eyes shoot themselves in the foot? Even if they had that many, why not slowly increase the pop count? And does psa even take submissions right now?
@chok, he didn’t say where he got the rumor from, there was also no source link in the description. So far I see no reason to even consider the possibility of it being true. Who knows, maybe someone who wants to buy the card is spreading the rumor to get some people to panic-sell their copy.
Oh, I think the rumor originated from a YGO FB group. Here’s a screenshot of the post. I’m not sure if this was the origination of the rumor but this was what was shared in a group I was in.
I haven’t watched the video so this might be addressed there but just because this guy is submitting 300 of them that does not mean they are in good condition. I could just be someone who was picking them up in any condition and is not expecting any 9-10s at all.
