Yugioh collectors

The pull rates on the collectors rares seem insane aside from the error boxes. If there is 3 in a case and 15 different to collect can see Yugioh being Pokemon level expensive haha

What are the error boxes?

The toon chaos packs are so hard to find in stores. Had some luck at Walmart, they had 12 blisters in stock that my buddy bought. He pulled a collectors rare chaos emperor dragon and toon black luster soldier! Watching him open them was pretty awesome for sure, it was the first packs he had opened in quite a long time so I’d agree that this set is reigniting some interest

Konami has lost a great chance to reignite passion in a lot of people… it’s garbage IMHO

What makes the set garbage?

Completely disagree. It’s garbage from a competitive stand point but this is one of the first sets ever Konami has made for collectors over players. I have been a serious collector since 2011 and this is the first thing I have seen such massive hype around in terms of collectors losing their minds over trying to get the cards from the set since Legendary Collection 2: GX came out. They hit the ball out of the park with the collector’s rares and not just by how the rarity looks but also by what cards they put in that rarity. There is a reason why the most expensive ones out of the set are the iconic cards (BLS, CED, Stardust). Should there have been more toon cards in this set? For sure but the spoiler for legendary duelist which is coming out in the near future has basically the rest of the toon cards being reprinted. I think it was genius by Konami. Hook them in with the collectors rares and reel them in with legendary duelist when everyone can now finish their old school toon deck in the expansion set reprint that was probably not going to sell as well.

I opened 9 booster boxes on my Instagram @wheresmypokedex and I only pulled 2 collector rares … fcking still pissed about it.

That’s more or less the pull rate.

They’re 1 every 3-4 boxes.

I was talking from a competitive player view and I expected to see more toon cards, but even from a collector view, personally I don’t see so much future value in these “collector’s rares”. We had an ultimate CED in DPKB, did we need a CR CED? Did we need another Stardust’s reprint? I don’t think so. I personally stay far away from everything that’s “made for collectors”… it would be nice to see this cards to grow in value and become really sought after but I wouldn’t count on it.

Yes we agree on the competitive aspect and the lack of actual toon cards in the set. But from a collector’s standpoint, the collector’s rares will hold value going forward. They look incredible and are not easy to get. If you think these are expensive, just wait till collectors rare BEWD and Dark Magician get released. With your logic above, did we need Veiler as a starlight rare in ETCO? No we didn’t but people are losing their minds over that and its currently around $600 raw. There has not been a high rarity reprint of Stardust ever really. It was never reprinted in an form of tournament pack as an ulti, just lower rarities so more people could get it so I think this one was very much welcome. For CED, the ulti does not really count in terms of comparing to this imo. 1st eds packs of DP Kaiba haven’t been in stores for over 10 years already and at least for konami, the unlims don’t have the errata’d text so this is a new obtainable high rarity version with the most current text. From what I have seen, word is that the unlimited print is coming soon. This set has only been out for roughly 2 weeks. That is some of the quickest unlim printing we have ever seen. If this is true, there is no more 1st ed out there and that’ll mean that the 1st ed’s will only start to go up even more and we don’t even know if they will be in the unlim print like how starlights aren’t.

Your point of view is clear, I’m not questioning your reasoning but we are on opposite sides. The ETCO’s Veiler for me is the perfect example of a shiny shit, an overpaid card that will not keep its value on the long term period. I hope you’re right about the collector’s rares.

Collectors Rares of the right cards will be big $$$

You just need the experience to know what the right cards are.

How much do you all think a 1st ed light of destruction box is worth these days? Hasn’t been any on ebay for a while (like a few months) with i believe the last one selling on there for close to $3k (i do not know of any private sales for one). With the way the collectables market has been recently, is $5k a reasonable price for it?

I have the BEWD English PSA 10 1st edition. Great card!

Wave 1st print or the second print?

It’s not the $22k card. It’s the $15k card. Not wavy.

Wavy isn’t confirmed 1st print, just a fyi.

It’s accepted as the first print by most collectors. We don’t have confirmation for a ton of stuff and never will have confirmation. That goes for Pokémon and yugioh.

Opened my one box…sad face
