The prices of unlimited boxes I think will never get too high. What we have seen this past decade is konami’s willingness to print the unlimited packs from legendary collection (LOB, MRD, SRL, PSV, DCR, IOC) into oblivion. I wouldn’t put it past them to start printing some of the other sets again, hence the big price gap between 1st and unlimited. It’s the reason why unlim magician’s force is expensive. It has not been reprinted by konami since ~2005 for those collector tins. I would have significant hesitation buying up unlimited boxes of the original era because of that. GX and 5ds on the other hand I feel differently about. First off, some 5ds boxes are only available in unlimited (TDGS, CSOC, SOVR, ANPR). Those imo should hold some value since that is basically the only way to get unweighed packs at this point. The other reason I think this is that the post original series legendary collections were reprint set mega packs. I hope that does not give me a false sense of security that we wont see these packs in print again in the future.

Its a shame about the reprints imo. Hurts collector confidence. The unlimited boxes of the og era are surprising affordable because of it and I would surprised to see a great movement compared to first ed boxes. I would also be a bit wary of 5ds boxes are Ghost rares could come back, there is nothing stopping Konami doing so. Although one would hope boxes always hold a premium to loose packs. But investing is always a risk.

That is true but it would only make the 1st ed ghosts jump even more in value. Also they have already changed the card stock again since 5ds so there will be differences. Just like how LOB has different print sets with the original being more valuable when you find it and it is distinguished as such, it will be the same for the original versus reprinted ghosts.

Anyone check the new side set coming out “Toon Chaos”? They’re introducing a new rarity to the TCG called “collector rare”. The OCG has this rarity and it looks like an ultimate rare that is on drugs. I think they look pretty sweet! Nice to have a new rarity targeted at collector’s now that ghosts are gone (other than starlight rares which I find kind of ugly).

I have a binder with some! I have like 4 ultimate stratos and a bunch of ulti 1st cards like diamond dude and alius etc, but I need two more ulti dark laws to complete the playset, but he’s getting sooo expensive.

Haven’t they printed collector rares in Asia before?, can’t find any examples though

A rainbow parallel finish. How deflating if that’s the finish on these. Basically a super rare finish on the whole card. Not premium enough to be called a collector rare. Now secret rare holo over the whole card would be sick.
