My first thought was already mentioned - my mind always jumps to Fossil Golem as one that was snubbed from being a holo.
But if i could pick any card, would love the holo treatment on my favorite card

Seems vintage has allot of great contendors, shows how good the early sets where. But without a doubt is golduck the most worthy of a holo card!

Mainly because of its significance in competitive play, I really think this was a glaring omission from Celebrations. Also for the same reason I’d also like base set Electabuzz, but chose Sneasel since Electabuzz at least got the Best of Game reverse holo. It did always bother me that Scyther and Hitmonchan were holo in the deck and Electabuzz wasn’t.

Electabuzz got a holo release in Platinum too! Although you can hardly tell with that black background. Kind of a bummer.

I completely forgot about the Platinum reprint set! I have the set along with the 1st editions and the ex versions of the cards because all 3 seemed to be reworked versions of the WOTC cards, it makes for a cool binder page.

Would only want the old back version to be holo as I’d rather have e-reader dot code than to be holo for new back.

I’ll push it one step further: Pick a single card art, that is only available in holo, including reprints/languages.
There were a lot of candidates, but I had to go with one in which I felt the holo does not hurt the card, and also compliments the illustration:
HGSS Triumnphant [Darkrain & Cresselia - Cresselia Half]
Now, if I could make any one holo-only card non-holo It is 100% Alto Mare’s Latios. (Latias, a close 2nd.)
Holo REALLY hurts this illustration’s detail.

Hell yea, the best Typhlosion card. Masago is one of the greats and it’s a shame this wasn’t a holo. The background is also textured and not super detailed, which makes it perfectly suitable for a holo pattern.

This two cards with a decent foil (maybe cosmos, or just the one from the orb promos) had potential to be amazing as well. Too bad they didnt gave them some love (they could even save both for the pokemon go set as they are regional creatures…)
