WTB Neo Destiny Shining Charizard 1st Edition PSA 10

WTB 2002 Neo Destiny Shining Charizard 1st Edition PSA 10

I’m from the UK, will pay $1800-1900 (reluctantly!)

Is your price in GBP £ or USD $?

I’d imagine it’s USD otherwise he would have put a £ sign

I put $ assuming a US/Can seller might contact me.
Unfortunately I would have to pay up to 20% import tax ontop of the cost of the card to the UK

Someone on here was paying 2200 or 2300 already so don’t think you are going to be getting any bites for that offer

$1900 is a fair price for the card

Just some insight on how the forum works, as I know for new members it can be a little unclear and people jumping on you over prices doesn’t really help.

We have by far and away the largest group of serious Pokemon card collectors on the internet. We all know the exact price range of PSA 10 1st edition Shining Charizard. We know it’s between $1900 and $2300 and has been fluctuating around there for quite some time. It hasn’t sold for under $1800 since 2017.

Coming here as a new member and offering on the lower range of a high-end, desirable card will almost always not get you any bites. Yes, $1900 may be a price you have some luck with on an eBay auction, but more likely than not the people here will simply not give you the time of day. What’s in it for them to make a sale to you that they could easily make on eBay if they wanted to?

This forum is not the place to try to get high-end cards even at market value. Do the research, and if you really want a solid card from a reputable member, be prepared to pay extra.

You may think it is a fair offer, but I have 3 of this card, so why would I sell for $1900 when I can quickly search and see this user is offering $2500? www.elitefourum.com/t/shadowlugia-wtb-wtt-1st-ed-lugia-shining-charizard-psa-10/23259/1

I’d have to sell for $2,650 on eBay to get that thanks to fees.

Hello, I don’t value this card at $2500
If it were on eBay I would be paying $2090 (1900 + 10%)

I’m not forcing anybody to sell me their card if they don’t want to, I live in the UK so would have to pay up to 20% import tax ontop of the cost of the card as I stated.

If someone wants to pay $2500 for the card, then that’s their business, and they probably don’t have the VAT to worry about like I do.
I simply quoted a price I would be comfortable with, and what I can afford, thanks.

@fourthstartcg ,

@algo , Honestly, I would go search on local facebook groups, Instagram or eBay.co.uk auctions if you want the card at that price point. Your dreaded import tax would then also become 0,-. The added bit of risk is a thing you’ll have to take for granted then, though.

Thanks for advice MegaZone and I’ll definitely keep my eyes peeled

I didn’t appreciate the “dreaded import tax” jibe though (forgive me if this wasn’t sarcasm, just how I perceived it).

If I was to spend the very top end $2500 (when they can be had for less on eBay in both BIN/BO listings and auctions anyway) then that would mean I’d have to pay $3000 total for the same card after taxes.

Would you guys like to pay $3000 for the same card? I don’t think so.

If the majority of you have the luxury of living in the US and are able to trade with one another without having to pay import taxes, then that’s a blessing.

However some of us don’t have that luxury and have to be mindful of this, and not all of us have the same spending power either!

Thanks for the responses anyhow, I’ll keep looking :+1:

I focused on that because it’s not a strong argument.

Simply put, a seller is not going to care if you have to pay import taxes afterwards. Same goes whether or not a price is within your spending limit or not. For a seller, the value of a card is not tied to the personal circumstances of the buyer.
However, it’s important to you. And as a shop-owner from the Netherlands I have to deal with import taxes all the time, so I totally understand you. But you really need to look at this from the sellers’ perspective, as they are the ones you’re asking something of.

Do you have one available? I can offer €2020

Nope, unfortunately not. :relieved:

We recently bought 2 copies; one at $1900 (seller was asking $2400 through eBay) cash deal outside of eBay and one at $2300 through eBay wich is last sold listing (that best offer accepted was 2300).

Might be hard to get one for your price but is definitely doable.

Hi, just bought one at $2312.57 more than I wanted to pay but he was a tough man to deal with. Hopefully I get it soon and don’t have to worry about picking up one in future! :flushed:
