Curious, whats wrong with this seller? Is he hard to work with? I’ve tried messaging. No dice tho.
I was actually looking into it, and honestly if he didn’t state that it sucked, i probably would be very interested. I still am, but not sure.lol
The one thing people forget about PSA 10s is, that they are not perfect cards. PSA 10s have flaws. So not sure if this is just a regular PSA 10 flaw, or something worse.
I’m not sure who would have pictures of the back, but I’ve heard from multiple very reliable sources to avoid that card. The seller even admits it in the description,
@austonmatthews the seller was banned some time ago from this forum I believe for shill bidding and the like.
I haven’t seen the issues myself so I’m unsure again if it’s weak or misgraded. If it’s just weak you’d have to live with it as I assume you’d have an awful hard time getting PSA to pay you $35,000 to recase it as a 9. If it is an 8 or lower I think they’d hate doing it but their hands would be tied. Hard to say though.
I think he’s literally the same dude in the reverse lot thread that just cancelled a listing for an auction ended too cheaply. I believe he also shills and his auctions are all private listings. It’s also a big red flag for such an expensive card to not have detailed pictures of the card…like the back.
To be honest I personally don’t think you were “shat” on, people were just suggesting the price of the card with their own personal experiences. You can disagree with them, and like you said, 29k is not a small number so if someone’s interested they would offer that regardless of other people’s opinions. Their opinions are not baseless; if you roll back this thread to page 750 when it starts, or read just page 755, you can tell that people in this forum alone mentioned that they tried to bid big on the charizard and lost. This makes the story more credible, and evidence points to how even if the auction was shilled (I don’t think it is shilled though), some people are still willing to pay a premium for the card.
Threads revolving around high end cards almost always generates this type of conversation, you are not the first to face this. I won’t be discouraged with this; you made your thread, collectors will see it, if they are interested they would negotiate. I sometimes contemplated starting discussions with low ball trophy card threads but in the end decided I just did not want to sell the card. However, the bigger the price disparity (or if someone doesn’t put a price in their listing), the less inclined I would start discussions because I know it’ll be a waste of time.
Bad example. That card is such a mess that even the seller says so…and won’t accept returns…and won’t even show the damage. Still, he wants 37,500.00 lol.
@austonmatthews@gottaketchumall Just so you are aware, that link you posted is a blatant misgrade. The seller won’t show the back and won’t accept refunds because they are fully aware of the misgrade. They also auction everything with private bids; a shade city special.
@austonmatthews, I and everyone here will gladly help you find a copy; they simply are currently selling for 40k. The last 3 copies have sold at that price. The 3rd sale was someone exhausting their resources to get someone to budge. As with majority of posts, I am concerned with the reality. If anything I would personally benefit tremendously from a price drop. This forum alone could buyout every single copy in the 20k range. That price just isn’t happening right now. Maybe in the future, but not right now.
Anyway your best bet is bidding on the occasional copy that appears. If multiple appear at once that would increase your odds.
Either way, Good luck!
