Would You Rather Buy with $4.5k?

Yeah with most 9s that have doubled, the 10s have correlated upwards too (for the cards i have checked). i’m just highlighting there appears to be a discrepancy with the base unlim zard.

hard to choose bewteen the PSA 8 charizard and fossil box. I think I go for the box

@firebirder31 Did you end up picking one and pulling the trigger?

No I haven’t bought any of those, at least not yet. This was more for fun than for personal insights but I believe I would choose the zard. Likely the highest possible grade I could see myself getting for the top set card in the hobby. Hard to justify spending 4.5k+ on a single item and it not being a 1st edition base charizard. At least in my current situation.

As we know, the young collectors will be making more money someday…

I remember seeing a 1st edition base zard for sale in my local card shop for $100 mint haha. The rest were $20-$50 range. That was expensive back then. @firebirder31 I don’t blame you. The most I’ve spent on a card is $700 on 1st edition Shining Zard. Should be worth a decent amount more by now but I havnt even checked because I’m not worried about it. Besides that card usually the most I spend on a card is $200-$250 range. Luckily a lot of light played to near mint 1st editions use to be under $100 except for shinings and base set. But those days have come and gone already haha just glad I had a chance to scoop up what I did before the much needed price increases some were criminally low. Still are in my opinion going off how old these cards are  the cost really adds up after awhile. More than two binders full now going into binder 3 now

Yup I think I’m going with the sell and save and wait strategy for now. Can’t really afford to buy lots of cards these days so just saving up for a zard or something now.

My thoughts is ill probably hit first edition base last because of price point. It will be easier spending thousands on a zard and the rest easier because I already built my collection up before hand. I simply like more cards. Sometimes I feel like I should have spent more for less and got all graded cards but that would be thousands and thousands extra so I’ll have to wait till im siting on much more cash and double back for what I missed out on

That’s the beauty of a hobby. Patience, passion, time, shifting interests and goals, etc.

Best of luck on the journey!

I’m just glad I made it thru the first edition holos. Everything after that is just a bonus. If these price changes happened before hand my goals might have been adjusted to unlimited neo cards or whatever set i was on. Ive changed goals a few times but kept my overall big picture goal. Like how I skipped some sets that I might go back for. I didn’t skip many sets tho. Just ones hard on my budgets like Skyridge and Aquapolis which id love to have
