Anyone have any insight on where these originally came from? They also seem to be some kind of CoroCoro Battrio mini cards. The edges are also perforated. Could they be from the magazine? If anyone can find a direct source, I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks for the ping.
I’ve searched a little, but couldn’t find anything.
Would you happen to have a high resolution picture of one of the Gen 4 Pokemon (Perhaps Croagunk?) as well as the back? I am having trouble searching because CoroCoro Mew tends to bring up the promo TCG card.
Unfortunately, I only happen to have the Mew card on hand. I just happened to find these other images on a mercari listing.
There seems to be a few close up images with a higher resolution on there.
Yeah, I’ve not seen them.
I’ll have a look around and circle back if I find anything.
The text says these are CoroCoro recommended Pokémon, which you’d think must mean they were included in the main CoroCoro magazine, but I don’t recall seeing them mentioned on any of the covers. The Battrio featured appear to be from multiple expansions, meaning the cards were likely from 2008, given the Pokémon shown.
Battrio was being heavily promoted at the time with all sorts of features, so they could have been from standalone promotional material utilising CoroCoro’s brand as an endorsement.
They’re pretty neat, though, and I’d like to know their story.
