I’m willing to pay a nice price for any of the Pikachu cards I’m still missing tbh. The cards I’m still missing are cards I’ve only seen once or twice, or in some cases even not at all, in the 5+ years I’ve been collecting Pikachu cards thus far. If a German Birthday Pikachu pops up for 800 USD, I’d buy it in an instance. If a French SM190 Detective Pikachu pops up for 100 USD, I’d buy it in an instance. If a Japanese unlimited edition E1 Pikachu pops up for 500 USD, I’d buy it in an instance. Etc.

With the Pikachu cards I’m missing price is (somewhat) not really an issue, nor is condition. Actually finding them is the real challenge.

There should be 1000s of that Detective Pikachu promo in French here in Canada lol… the French Pokemon TCG stuff never ever ever moves and always goes on sale… I’m sure I could source one for you… was it exclusively given during the premiere?

@zubat93 @pokebowl Sorry, forgot to add a detail to that one in my post above: “with stamp”… The SM190 Detective Pikachu is available both with and without stamp:

A.f.a.i.k. the one with stamp comes from Detective Pikachu Movie Blue-Rays from France, but those were distributed randomly and as an error. In those Blue-Rays, people in France primarily found English copies with stamp, and only a select few had the French copies, and also some contained Spanish copies for whatever reason from what I’ve heard (which is especially weird, because the Spanish SM190 Detective Pikachu card with stamp was never released in Spain nor Latin America that I’m aware of).

I would love to find a reasonably priced trophy kanga or snap card. I’m willing to pay a finders fee on a card that is effectively 20% cost of the market rate.

In other words. Find me a sweet ass deal and I’ll pay a commission

If anyone can find me Trophy Pikachus or Illustrators that are severely under market price, please send them to me.

Very interesting… you got me curious now, evidently I’m seeing a lot of the SM190 in English for a few dollars on Marketplace and Kijiji (our craigslist), I’ll have to make a post in the Quebec groups then / inquire at least if they were given in Quebec theatres… I know from experience the overstock of promos just rot in a back store somewhere in the theatre and collect dust lol would be interesting if there’s a box of this French SM190 somewhere in an office collecting dust next to a bunch of empty Tim Horton’s cups… I’ll get back to you

Different budgets. At this moment I can ‘drop’ 2k without coming into to much issues. And with heavy play, I mean tumble dried 4 times and stick together with tape. I just want one to complete my binder, I don’t care for the condition of it to achieve the goal.

I like trophies but the question isnt about what cards you think are worth paying stupid money for, it was more like what stupid cards would you pay even stupider money for

If someone found half of a Snap Gyarados that they scrounged up from the sewers (has to be top half), I would pay a stupid amount of money just to say that my collection is complete. XD

Edit: Arguably, I’ve already spent a ridiculous amount of money trying to get an Unlimited Japanese Gyarados Spirit Link due to the amount of shipping I’ve paid to see if it will actually get here. I have two Unlimited Gyarados cards from Rage of the Broken Heavens on standby with Glenn and I didn’t even have to spend HALF of what I’m paying for this Uncommon card.

My answer to this differs then others is that the thing I’d be willing to pay the most for is information. I don’t care if I could never have a bunch of the rare cards. I’m more interested in what’s out there. Like if we could know for a fact that prerelease raichu is real. Or that certain snap cards have started to be sold by the creators. Error cards for other languages that don’t get reported. I’d rather personally pay for the information needed to create a universal card list and never own another card again because the information can last a lifetime and help out so many more people.

It depends on the information. For information on unlimited expedition, L1 Japanese unlimited, pre release Raichu, those sorts of things, I’d be willing to pay probably $1000 IF people could actually prove what they are saying. That being said, I don’t have a $1000 to drop for that information currently but still I’d be willing to do it for the community
