So seeing recent threads about cards being returned to owners with additional scratches, just makes me question why PSA encapsulate cards naked? Why not put it in a perfect fit before encapsulation? Does the sleeve hinder the view of the card or will it potentially damaged the card?
If it is for viewing of the card, I doubt many people have these cards displayed out in the open. I believe majority of these graded cards are placed inside a dark box and only pulled out for the odd viewing or for resale later on.
I canāt really say why they donāt use a sleeve with Pokemon cards (they use them with Yugioh though it seems) but I personally donāt like the look of a sleeve inside a PSA caseā¦
Adding another step to the encapsulation process only adds more room for error. For me personally, although I keep my cards in a dark place, when I take them out to look at them Iād prefer if my view was unobstructed.
PSA used to sleeve cards inside the slabs, I actually have a few old 1st ed Base cards myself with this. But they kind of look like sagging candy wrappers so Iām actually having them re-cased. They obstruct the viewing of the card as you said, though I suppose that it technically is possible to use sleeves which donāt look like clear lollipop wrappers.
you Can see the card from within the case perfectly. the corners and light grey bit and shit. Very strange but its almost like a 3d view of the card what is this world coming to.
I seen the old ones with the sleeve from very long time ago. the non wavy ones looked good.
but theyd have better sleeves now.
they said they would put like just a mylar sleeve or some shit on my no raritan zard. but i cannot part with children for long.

They put these mylar sleeve things on the back of yugioh cards just to hold and place. and could probably start doing it for pokemoon. It would be cool, just on the back even.
