This PSA 9 1st Edition Charizard seems to be in an inner sleeve inside the case, I’ve never seen that before, has anyone else?
Yeah they do that for cards sometimes to keep them from shaking around. You see them on ancient mews a lot. Not typical for a charizard to have it but that one you pictured has a really old cert so maybe they did it more often back then.
I believe this is an old practice that they still do for yugioh cards. That certification number is very old so it’s possible this is what they used to do to make the card fit properly in the holders.
Years ago I had to tell the sealers to leave out the sleeve cause they looked wavy and could hurt the card.
Ahh thanks guys, yeah the sleeve looks pretty terrible IMO it’s very wavy. I’d never seen a PSA card sleeved in the case before so just wanted to check in case something dodgy was going on.
From my understanding you can still ask for the sleeve and they will put it.
I don’t actually think it’s a sleeve.
I watched someone crack a case and what came out was a sheet of thin plastic, it wasn’t a sleeve.
Whatever it is that is very unappealing. The appeal of that zard is being hindered due to that ugliness.
@ozenigma From my experience it is a sleeve, but the thing is that PSA very often just put the card on top of the sleeve, and not inside of it for unexplainable reasons. I have seen this on a couple of Yu-Gi-Oh cases I cracked myself and heard it from other collectors too.
This is one of the reasons why bgs case destroys PSA aesthetically
Yup, when I cracked out my cards they were sitting on top of the sleeve as well! I really don’t understand it lol.
