Why are some sold ebay items not listed under 'sold items'?

I just saw this on ebay yesterday. There was a Japanese Shining Raichu PSA 10 for sale. I checked a few hours later and the Raichu wasn’t available anymore, but the card also never appeared in the ‘sold items’ or ‘completed items’ section.
Personally I have also bought cards which never appeared in the sold items section after I made the purchase. The purchase was clean though, and I did receive the cards. Do you have an idea what could be the reason for this error?

That happens when the seller pulls a listing without having sold the item. Either they changed their mind, sold locally, a number of reasons as to why they might yank it.

I see, thanks! But what about my case? I purchased the card and it also got delivered, and yet the item never appeared in the sold item section. Neither globally nor on the seller’s profile.

Ive seen what you are talking about. I don’t know exactly why it happens either, always thought it was a glitch on ebay or something because item id does show it.

Yeah, I guess some sort of glitch is most probable

It’s the ‘out of stock’ option. Sold items don’t appear when it’s enabled.

I saw what you’re talking about on some other cards I was watching to get a feel for the market value. Very strange and annoying

I sold it to somebody on Facebook that was looking, so I just pulled the eBay listing as I no longer had the card available for sale. Well actually I sold 2 of them yesterday, 1 on Instagram as well.

Ah, nice to see that some ebay sellers are also on this board! And that explains it pretty much :blush:

I come up with the same problems with cards I know obviously must have sold over the years. I think they must only keep track of the past year or six months or who knows what eBay does with their previous sold listings

I believe it’s something like 3-4 months at most, although even less if there’s been a lot of them sold.

Little off topic, for different reasons I’ll sometime change the title or details right before I end an item.

Card Mavin is a good tool to utilize to find older sold listings that no longer show on eBay.

Ya I use that and Pokemon price . Com but still it’s hard sometimes depending on the card. Some cards are sold much more often than others. In my case im looking for ex cards and not a ton of PSa graded ones even get posted
