Who owns the oldest PSA graded Pokémon card?

Ok so clearly evidence that there was a batch of CD promo blastoise card graded with PSA at around the same time, most likely more are within this range and confirm the action that the king did more than 2 decades ago … wonder if the same can be found for the CD Promo charizard

Here’s another old Masaki cert with the “Vending Mail-in” designation; the pop shows a total of 143 cards graded across the set, vs 2,207 graded as “Masaki Promo”.

Apologies if slightly off-topic but Is there a way to find out how many different designations there have been? I find the history of it interesting and I can’t imagine many changes have happened due to the effect they have on the database.

I thought they did skip around for certain cards though? I swear I’ve seen a sports card with the 80 million cert around the time people were getting high 40 million certs in returns. However I can’t for the life of me find any proof of this now so it’s possible my mind is playing tricks on me.

And I can’t remember seeing any Pokémon cards in the 30 million cert ranges but if you go to the PSA certification lookup there are sports cards there. Just messing around and typing in random numbers it seems like they stop in the high 31900000 certs and jump to the 40 mil certs.

Edit: if you go type in numbers in the 80 and 90 million cert ranges on the cert lookup it comes back with sports cards as well

Just got this back last week, 80m cert. Was a bit confused why as well lol

was looking at answering this question, i know that gary graded many CD promo, for which i own 2 of them just because the cert was low  or so i thought… i did a 5 min investigation and found something weird and probably some spotted it in this forum.. but yeah in case : https://www.psacard.com/cert/1000000/psa

So someone in early 2000’s grade a 2019 charizard :joy: … fun fact.. if the post is not relevant please delete :innocent:

how strange, would love to know the story behind it.

PSA gave this card that particular cert number to celebrate their one millionth Pokémon card graded.

This is interesting information mainly due to the fact that they keep a database revolving their pokemon cards by cert. Makes me curious if every card in that database is in order since they know its their 1 millionth exactly. Im sure they have parameters to check which would be nice information to look at by date.

Crazy just a few years ago Pokémon wasn’t a priority for PSA or any grading companies. Now it’s the highest volume category
