Where to trade my Bulk for cash?

Hey guys I have about 1500 to 2000 bulk cards. I was seeing what a few of the best places are for trade ins for cash.

@mcorey777, before trying vendors online, Id suggest looking locally to see if any places would take it just because in shipping large amounts of cards it could potentially get costly. There are lots of card stores in my area I know which do, as well as some people who attend tournaments and pokemon card related events so you might catch some deals going that route.
If not though, I had a great experience selling with Troll and Toad, and their rates seem to be more than others online (When I sold the rate for 1000 cards was 40, and that wasnt too too long ago). Another great vendor I sold to was Full Grip Games, but their rates weren’t as high, but customer service was astounding.

I live in Pensacola Florida maybe there’s something by me I havnt looked into it. I haven’t seen a card shop itself sense I was a kid so I don’t even know where to look anymore. Ya I was worried about shipping cost and im guessing I have to pay my own shipping too?

its also hard to find places that differentiate between modern and vintage bulk

I never know what to do with vintage bulk

I sold my bulk to derium’s pokemon. It is $3 for every 100 cards right now. They send funds straight into PayPal. I was getting rid of mostly everything I had laying around, so sent into 3,600 cards, using a medium flat rate box, they all fit tightly.

I put all my bulk in boxes and throw them at pedestrians as I drive by. It gives me more enjoyment than selling a stack of cards for $2.

I so badly want this to be true.

Haha right I hear you. All the bulk common cards just take up so much space. I almost did what others do. eBay listings with 100 cards and a mystery Holo or reverse but those lots are worthless and a lot of my Bulk is hidden fates from my Shining Charizard hunt that took 200 plus packs!!

Guess I have a new idea here next time I want to get rid of mine

The main brain buster I’m coming across is I understand they are common cards but .03 per is crazy cheap I rather rip them in half at that rate or would consider haha. Than im guessing I have maybe $45 worth with my 1500 plus cards some beings rares and trainers. Than what’s shipping $25 out of my end? So ill and up with $20 or less? Sorry guys im a rookie at trading in bulk so I’m clueless where to start and not get robbed by rates

Do what I did on eBay a while back:
Ultimate Vintage 50-Card Pokemon Pack
x30 Commonsx10 Uncommonsx5 1st Editionsx3 Raresx1 Black Star Promo
x1 Holo Rare
$30 for the lot–shipped. Sold like hotcakes. Buyers loved it, no issues.

All cards were in lightly played or better conditions, 1st editions/rares/promo/holo rares in near mint or better condition. No doubles.

Sure, you gotta sacrifice some decent 1st editions and rares, but it’s a good way to make a profit off your bulk. And buyers love the mystery and nostalgia elements–it’s like opening up packs from 20 years ago.
I know many people on E4 hate the whole “mystery packs” and whatnot, but the way I set it up was very precise and consistent–the buyer knew exactly what they were getting. Prevents disappointment, ensures happy customers.

Great idea but I don’t want to buy extra old 1st editions just to make the sale. I strictly only buy off one site and most old cards there isn’t a ton of 1st editions floating around. And as far as pricing I havnt been able to find even 1 card cheaper on eBay than the site I use and I have the issues of fake cards or risky sellers from eBay

I can help elaborate a bit more here with how it worked for me to see if I can help the confusion. So, Ill start by saying I collect vintage and modern. Vintage I stick to buying PSA graded cards, or singles here and there of what I enjoy, and modern is typically for both collecting and playing, but more on the playing side. That bulk I had through those cards is what i ended up selling, but you really dont make a ton on it to begin with. Mainly i did it to free up space seeing as i accumulated an abundance of unneeded cards. That being said, I always also organize my bulk cards by set, rarity, and trainers so its easy to pull cards when deck building or searching for things. The rares I kept because rates for rares is higher than commons and uncommons. Then I boxed them up, and did a flat rate shipping with UPS which only cost me around $20. I sold cards equating to around $350 total (bulk and some bulk gx cards) which was a good little chunk of money just to clean up some storage. So, that being said, I wouldnt say it was worth it cash wise, but it was a nice deal to just get that job done.

Now, if youre looking at vintage cards, there might be better routes which im unfamiliar with. @mtajaj32, had a great idea there in moving cards which would work for sure, and bring you a greater profit overall. However, if only looking to move say 1500 cards and nothing could sell individually apart from selling through a buylist or a bulk buyer, id say it might not be worth the hassle just now. You could wait until you accumulate more, but overall buylisting bulk I feel is more for just getting rid of large quantities of cards being that your typically going to sell at a loss in this regard. Hope that makes sense here

Ya I’ll probably just sell to one of these websites super cheap. Or attempt to find a local store If there even is one. I was just curious before I accepted the .03 rate that there wasn’t a better one I was missing. I’d accept store credit but most the places selling bulk don’t have any single cards I want. And I stopped opening packs honestly I wish I just jumped straight into buying singles. A lot cheaper and you can actually make amazing collections come together fast

You don’t have to copy the idea to a T. Just work with the same core idea: pair your bulk with some cards that gauge people’s interest.

True I’ll probably post sets of 200 bulk cards with all 3 of the gx promos included but nothing random about it. I see a lot of listings with bulk and 2 ex/gx/Holo/reverse holo’s which they usually just use reverses or promos at least I can show them which ones upfront instead of selling a pipe dream haha

at Regionals, several vendors were buying common/uncommon bulks for 3.5 cents each. some were only offering 3 cents, even 2.5 cents. if selling online, definitely calculate your shipping costs. there is usually a weight that’ll maximize your return.

Check out The Awesome Couple Shop. When I sent out bulk a few months ago I got the most from them. It wasn’t a ton more, but it was better than the rest! I think when everyone was at $.03 they were at $.035. It adds up I guess if you have a lot. Otherwise, maybe hold a bit longer? It seems to be very slowly rising in price.

I’ll buy them - what you got?
