Where do you buy?

If there isn’t already, I thought it would be nice to have a thread of sellers, stores, distributors, etc. No secrets, your sellers will appreciate you for it

Where are all of you buying:

Single cards

Booster boxes new and old

card sleeves, binders etc.

Is there anything else that’s worth mentioning?

Ebay
Instagram
Shade City

Are there any sellers on instagram or ebay that you would recommend? I couldn’t find shade city, do you have a link?

I’d recommend avoiding Shade City. No buyer recourse if there is a problem.

PWCC will be a good choice, also there are many E4 members there. In general any high rep seller with 100% feedback will be ok, that’s why you can trust Ebay policies

eBay amiami amazonjp

But in all seriousness, ebay, yahoo japan, instagram, and goodwill online. There’s a few more, but the first 2 I go to primarily.

I personally buy all non-holos (or modern cheap holos) from Troll&Toad, but then look for more valuable holos on ebay. Buying individually kinda sucks though.

Someone is using my poor grammar as a means to hide their shopping secrets! Where do you buy from?

Why do you use one over the other?

Have you used tcg player? I’ve had better luck with pricing for newer individual cards, though I haven’t tried looking for WOTC cards.

EBay, IG, Virbank, and my local game store.

What’s the website for Virbank? I was trying to look it up, but no luck.

yea haven’t heard of Virbank OR shade city

I will tell you what no one else wants to because It’s the most lucrative to flippers and collectors! The best two places to buy cards are the following: Ebay: buy-it-now newly listed, and locally (make FB and craigslist ads in your area WTB POKEMON) and people will sell to you even if you say in your ad you pay 50% of online prices, people are willing to give you stuff for free sometimes even! Most of the local stuff is modern, but I’ve found over 90% of my WOTC collection locally (in a city of 70k people) and I have easily 5 figures worth of wotc in my collection from just March of this year buying locally. Its out there lots and lots of it. Hopefully you are near a dense city and are willing to meet people (wear your mask )

I primarily buy my cards from CardMarket.com (English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish cards) and eBay.com (English, Japanese, and Korean cards).

Some other places I sometimes buy from:

  • eBay.co.uk / eBay.com.au / eBay.de / eBay.fr / eBay.it for cards from their respective countries
  • LPPCollecting.it for Italian cards
  • frikea.es for Spanish cards (which are released in Spain - although most Spanish cards are exclusively released in Latin America these days… :unamused: )
  • Yahoo Japan through the middleman service Noppin.com or Buyee for domestic Japanese auctions
  • tcgbox.co.kr through the middleman service harum.io for Korean cards
  • beehivetcg.com through the middleman service superbuy.com for Chinese cards
  • ojamacard.com for Thai cards
  • Portuguese, Indonesian, and sometimes Korean cards I buy through a middleman in Brazil, Indonesia, and South Korea respectively
  • Misprinted cards through the Gotta Misprint 'Em All Facebook group
  • Misprinted Yu-Gi-Oh cards through the Yu-Gi-Oh Misprint Collectors and Yugioh Misprints Facebook groups

Dutch, Polish, and Russian cards I no longer need since I have all Pikachu cards for those languages. But Dutch I would buy at marktplaats.nl (a Dutch domestic website similar to eBay - also owned by the same company - but I’m Dutch myself, so those are no issue). Polish cards I’ve bought from various places. And Russian cards I used to have a middleman for as well years ago, although we’ve lost contact.

Greetz,
Quuador
