When will you stop ?

Hey guys another little question for you people

When do you reckon you’ll stop collecting? Do you think you’ll finish goals and just stop and be happy or will you just find more and more things to collect

For me I honestly don’t know :joy: I’m on a train and can’t get off :grimacing:

I will collect Pokémon cards the rest of my life. It is not just a hobby for me, it is a way of life. I would be lost without it.

I don’t think I’ll ever stop either. I may end up selling my bigger cards down the road (10+ years from now) but collecting in general is a life hobby

After a great deal of thinking and research, I’ve compiled a list of cards, graded and non graded, that I plan to acquire for my collection. I hope to complete this goal by the end of 2019. I’ll continue to collect after that, just on a much smaller scale. Honestly, I’d rather buy packs for my future children, in the event they like Pokemon. God willing.

I’ll probably never end. I’m into 2-3 serious collections, sometimes i left one and when i come back some time later I have to spend a lot of time clearing the backlog. Also, i’m nowhere near even to reach a quarter of my Pokemon TCG goals

Good question. I have stopped collecting. My collection has a feel of completion once I acquired a 1st Edition Base Set Charizard. I feel relaxed knowing I have most of the things I wanted from when I first started collecting. Sometimes I feel like people don’t know when to stop, unlike myself. The best part of knowing when to stop is not having to sell anything off and keeping everything. My bank account and I are also better friends as of recent.

I would say it depends on life for me. I really enjoy collecting and I still have plenty of Pokemon tcg goals but sometimes other things in life take priority. If those other things mean I cannot financially support collecting anymore that is probably when I will stop. Or if it ever stops being fun (at this point it doesn’t look like that will be anytime soon though).

I may stop collecting, but I don’t think I’ll ever leave this community. Money may become an issue down the line when I have kids which would lead to a break in collecting. However, I can still help out the community and be a part of it in a different way by helping people would don’t know as much or just have questions I can answer.

For those who say when they’re dead. Don’t you worry about who you’ll end up passing your collection over to? The thing I worry about is my family underselling my stuff for cheap rather than its future potential value. If I can’t find someone to trust over my collection when I’m old I may start selling stuff when I’m 60 or so. To me it’s all about the journey of collecting.

60??? Is that what you consider old lol.
