After almost five years of watching and waiting I finally picked up the Tyranitar V from Battle Styles. This one was listed on eBay for 70% market price due to the poor cutting on the top left and bottom right. I’m now just one card away from my first ever master set! If I save up 25 cents a week I should have enough to purchase it in about two and half months.

NICE!!! I gotta say, when non-minty cards are discounted this bad, and graded cards are not a significant premium over raw, it’s a sign to me that the collectors are not the ones driving the price, and I’m REALLY glad to see these reasonable deals getting picked by those who love them!

I would temper your expectations. Prices are still much higher than they were just 12 months ago. It will take some time for prices to settle if the boom is truly dying down. For the more expensive cards, I am not convinced that the boom has ended. Auctions and BINs seem to be as voracious as the past 12 months.

Torchic 006 Holo European POP Tournament Black Star Promo
One of my favorite cards of all time depicting my favorite starter by Ken Sugimori.

Feels incredible to finally own this piece and I have it displayed in the Emerald gradedguard to represent my first Pokemon game and introduction to my favorite starter. This card combines so many aspects of the hobby that I enjoy in to one card and I couldn’t be happier to own this copy!

Hahaha definitely! That would be one of those kind of items that takes me back to some place when seeing it. Whenever I smell a Plumeria or Tuberose flower it instantly makes me think of there. That artwork is amazing, I don’t think I’ve seen it before this.

Finally decided to pull the trigger on the Cresselia. Probably could have gotten it for way less a while back since the LEGEND cards went crazy over the past year, but that is just how things go. I was honestly super hyped when it popped up for auction in my country 
Having both together in hand now is such a great feeling. They look absolutely incredible side by side!

Got in a few more Japanese Base set cards, getting closer to completing the set. Just need six more cards to finish it! Also picked up the 2025 Pikachu World Championship Promo, $6 is way cooler than the $20 or whatever it was to get it from Pokemon Center I think it was. Can’t wait to open up a bunch of packs for Christmas soon! I’m 36 and my Christmas presents to myself look like I’m 12 besides the new Makita impact driver drill and sawhorses lol
