When I was a kid I was convinced Golem being an uncommon was a mistake. Final evolution, looks awesome, can do 100 damage?!?

I actually felt exactly the same. I don’t think I even realized it was an uncommon until I was older

Always found it odd the Golem was the only one out of the original “link cable trade” Pokemon not to receive a holo in its first appearance (the others being Alakazam, Machamp and Gengar). At least it got one with the Masaki campaign and later Skyridge and Expedition but we don’t talk about the Golem crotch shot

My 2 favorite cards from the Non-Japanese Art Academies. The Kyogre is a recent addition thanks to @chibicollectables

I was lucky enough to chat with Gosha (the Tangrowth artist) years ago to add some details to the Art Academy article on Pokumon, and he was kind enough to sell me one of his Tangrowths.

Fast forward to the end of 2024 and he was at an event in Florida so I brought the card for him to sign. It was apparently the first one he’s ever signed! He also illustrated some shikishis and signed the Digimon cards he’d illustrated

Next up on my 1st Edition journey is this lovely condition Ninetales.

I’m lucky this one arrived in one piece as it was shipped internationally in just a flexible cardsaver in a bubble mailer But it all worked out in the end.

1st Editions are really something else, Pokemon golden age, layout, holo and colors are just perfect for me.
