After some not that good collecting moments some great ones too, and i’m glad to say it’s a massive one even if it might not look like one. For a long time i thought i have a completed topps collection (without any set variants but all unique set cards and promos) until 2023 appeared a new unknown topps card. Since then only a handful of copies have surfaced and while it’s most likely some sort of rare promo card for The First Movie the exact origins aren’t still clear, especially when topps doesn’t keep any information of their past releases. Even though i couldn’t really actively hunt for any cards it was my second most wanted card after the cosmos foil fossil muk and gettimg it is such a big releaf, and one of the great parts of obtaining it was that i was able to trade for it, enormous thanks go to @stagger12 for the trade and @Alec for middlemaning the trade for us! I’m more than happy to be able to call my topps collection complete again

You aren’t the only one for sure, extremely niche card that has only recently been getting more known in the midst of the more dedicated topps collectors

This just opened up a memory for me. Back when the movie came out, I remember hearing how Blockbuster was selling promotional packs for the movie and you would get a special Mewtwo card. Sadly my blockbuster didn’t have any of the Mewtwo cards left but I did get a pack. I wonder if this is related?

@azulryu that was the more common topps promo card that was given out, the Super Psychic Pokemon promo pity that you didn’t get one since i know mewtwo was a special one for you in addition to gyarados, would have been a nice personal touch to the card

I have loved this artwork ever since I first saw it in this thread. It’s one of those artworks where you notice something new every time you look at it. My favourite detail is the lichen on the log. For just a dollar or so, this card is such a visual treat.
