Waiting on some cards to show up on the market over here so haven’t been buying much at all. Have decided to start some “Nat Geo” binders of the modern ARs that are in the style of National Geographic photos of animals in the wild with full pages of single cards. So much good art is available for cheap so a nice thing to keep me busy while I wait.
Magneton is a beautiful card but can’t help but wish it had texture.

Piloswine and White Kyurem arrived. I was also supposed to be getting a staff zygarde to finish the set but they accidentally sent a yanmega staff (super cool but i already have one) so im going to try to send it back and get that sorted.
Edit: They are sending the correct card with a return envelope, and they responded super quick.

I have to say I find your devotion to build a robust prerelease and staff collection inspiring. Sometimes I focus a lot more (maybe too much honestly) on my slab/high end collecting and it helps cleanse my palette seeing cards for a binder collection. Thanks for sharing your passion with us

I went to Japan. Haul mostly from shops in akihabara but also bought a few cards from nakano and dotonbori. Very, very fun experience. I haven’t been following prices much so not sure if I got good prices or not. I saw many secret rares for like $3-4 so I couldn’t help but scoop them up. Otherwise I just bought cards that I like.

This was previously posted in my MTG thread, so apologies if you read it twice, but was able to finally meet Arita and get 3 sigs at NYCC. It did cost me an arm and leg, but considering I had crazy plans to chase him around the world previously, seeing him 40 min away in NYC was a pretty good deal. Zero line because no one knew he was coming. I was able to chat with him for like an hour since it was so not busy.
I can retire pretty happy if this is all I ever get signed from him (well, if he ever allows a sketch on Dragonair, I might be tempted).
Non-Pokemon wise, I also got him to sign his new Magic the Gathering card. (Much cheaper btw, $100 including sketch, you can take as many pics as you want).
He also drew a Black Lotus for me, with a little froggy twist
Also saw Midori Harada again, had her draw Timetwister, and got a signature card from her. Great 2 days overall

Thank you for the kind words :)! I loved his lil bear too. It was a really nice time just meeting someone who’s art I’d admired since childhood.
