Story inbound, strap in! :pineapple: :palm_tree: :sunrise:

I wrote the above comment on the “cards that are unreachable” thread back in April of 2024. At the time of the post, the sentiment really did seem true. Little did I know where actually taking the time to respond to that thread thoughtfully would take me.

The Tropical Mega Battle “Hawaii” Lucky Stadium card has captivated me ever since I found out it existed. It is seriously so cool; I can’t get enough of the artwork, the release, the history, the combination of English and Japanese on the card, and really everything that surrounds the TMB (I’m still kicking myself for not bidding higher on the TMB Dictionary that was auctioned on Heritage several months back…if anyone wants to sell one, let me know). After thinking more about the post made last year, I began to ask myself “is this really an unreachable card?” and decided maybe it’s time to start one of my biggest undertakings in the hobby to date.

Over the past year and a half, I have put money aside, sold off extra Pokemon items on my eBay store, sold old clothing and home items on Facebook marketplace, and overall made a conscious and full effort to get this card into my collection. As luck would have it, throughout my search I got into contact with a potential seller of this card who lives in Hawaii (about 10 minutes away from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, at that). We decided to meet last week while I was in Oahu for a work trip, and I’m overjoyed to say we came to an in person agreement for him to sell the card.

After letting out screams of joy and excitement for about 10 minutes in my car, I naturally did exactly what anyone in this situation should do: I drove over to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, and took some pictures of the card in the exact area that is depicted on the artwork. I couldn’t have thought up a better story as to how I could have gotten this card (short of going back in time to receive it at the Tropical Mega Battle…yeah, that would have been cooler, but I’ll settle for this :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:). What a collecting journey this has been!
