I recently bought these two Slowbro cards, one being from Team Rocket and one from Legendary Collection.
I bought them because this is one of my favourite artworks with the Rocket grunt in the back, but I also love the fact that the holo differs.
It got me thinking what holo pattern I like best. For me it’s actually the first ‘stars’ holo. It is by far the most nostalgic. The swirl on the galaxy holo does add some more variety though. It’s cool how the same card can have a very different feel.
Cosmos is hard to beat. By cosmos, I mean not base set English

Galaxy = base set English. Unless everything I know is fake

Yeah, this one´s awesome as well. In Southern Island I love it too.
My heart belongs to Galaxy. 
My favourite is the cosmos but I think anything is better than the flat holo they use in SV and Mega sets. I was also really disappointed with the transition to the flat reverse holo in Mega Evolution.
Exactly. If only they would bring it back but I guess it is too costly now that holo’s aren’t the chases anymore.
I really liked the different energy types on the Team Rocket Returns Reverse Holofoil cards.
And in more recent sets, I really love is the reverse pattern on some of the Paldean cards that are like a mosaic tile effect.
My favourite is definitly Cosmo Holo! Don’t like the star pattern of Galaxy foil.

Could be. I don´t know. Still curious about your take on it though.
Cosmos holo for me as well. I kinda see Base Set 2 as the definitive version of the English Base Set cards because of that.
Galaxy because of nostalgia glasses and I grew up with base set. But I’ve only collected japanese since picking cards up again, so I only own cosmos holo cards, which are still fantastic.
Skipping out on English means missing a bunch of those interesting reverse holo cards, but that’s okay
The ones with stars = Galaxy foil. 
The ones with potential swirls = Cosmos foil.
And from the mainstream holofoils, I like the Cosmos Holofoil the most. Also looks great on Reverse Holos:
I also like the very unique holofoil patterns that’s only used on one or two cards, like this wavy holofoil on this Japanese Kyogre ex (very suitable for a Water-Type Pokémon) or these circles on some of the Korean Shiny Collection cards:
