Was thinking about the fact that I’ll never have a Family Event Kangaskhan in my binder, as if I ever do buy one I would want to buy a graded copy purely for authentication, and would be too afraid to crack it and keep in a binder? I do keep expensive cards in my binder (mainly chase modern cards such as the Umbreon VMax) which others have told me I’m crazy for. So what’s the threshold for you? What is the most expensive card you have in your binder? What card would you love to own but would be too afraid to put in a binder?
For me it’s the Copycat Legends prize card. Though I guess I have an LP gold star mew that’s probably worth more now in a binder too.
In my mind there’s no limit, and I’d put a 6 figure card in a binder. Of course that’s easy to say when I don’t own one. In all honesty I might think differently if I ever am in that situation.
Off the top of my head either Crystal Crobat or the Stamp Promo Pikachu - both I got for a lot cheaper than they’re worth now. I have no issue with putting expensive cards in binders, but also not (hopefully yet) at the stage where I can spend $1k+ on cards for my own collection
English gold star rayquaza. I actually cracked it out of a slab to add to my binder collection.
I keep all of my cards in a binder regardless of value. My most valuable is probably my 1st Edition Base Set Charizard however it didn’t cost that much when I bought it in 2011.
i have a shining raichu and a lugia ex in decent condition, both of them i’ve had since i was little and pulled them from packs myself. they aren’t worth much compared to what others on this fourum have i’m sure!!! only in the couple hundred dollars range. but i loved them so much and i’m v grateful that childhood me at least saved them from going through the wash. so i’m gonna echo others in the thread and call them priceless ![]()
The Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat I got at the Van Gogh Museum.
I love binders and I have all the WotC sets in binders among many other things. For instance, I got all the “Scream” promos when they were new and cheap, and they still sit on a nice binder page despite their crazy prices these days. I see a lot of new collectors being overly paranoid about card protection. A well stored binder is perfectly safe for protection. Don’t worry.
Masaki Golem and a beaten up copy of Masaki Gengar.
For cards that I’ve already bought I have no problem keeping them in the binder. However I have a Psa7 Alakazam waiting to be bonked, and we’ll see If I find the strength to crack a card that got decently expensive lately.
My ocd really wants to see the magenta on the back of that machamp lol
Theyre all thick stamp?
I’m not sure which would win out as the most expensive out of them in the current market, but I have a Neo Genesis 1st edition Lugia, double holo Shining Gyarados, Latios Gold Star & a perfectly minty Grand Party promo all sitting in different binders.
No, there are a few thin stamps in between. The machamp is indeed a thick stamp, but the machamp in my shadowless binder set coincidentally is a thin stamp!
I have both a 4-slot slab binder and 4-slot toploader binder that I use for all my very rare cards, so including those, my most expensive three cards rn are probably Japanese orange raincoat Art Academy Pikachu; PSA-10 The Masked Royal; and
probably the MATCHPRINT Pikachu.
But, not counting those and actually look at my regular 9-slot binder, my most expensive cards in there are likely the Mario/Luigi Pikachu full arts or Mega Charizard cosplay Pikachu full arts.
Although technically they’re not in my binder rn, since I’m in the process of re-organizing my Pikachu binder now that my Christmas break has started. ![]()
Greetz,

Is that a full 1ED Base binder? Incredible binder pages right there.
Yes, followed by a complete shadowless set and a complete 1999-2000 base set in the same binder. ![]()
Not an actual picture of my card but I cracked a psa 8 skyridge ho oh a couple of years ago for my skyridge binder. It’s since tripled in value or so and I’m less comfortable with it sitting in my binder and might regrade it. ![]()
Not my binder, but I wanted to add this here:
