This was decent.
Going to Worlds was a huge highlight of my year!
It was a year full of ups and downs. Especially work related the last quarter of the year was really bad and stressful.
Privately I accomplished a major goal of mine and finished my first Marathon in April, I’d even say this was my highlight of the year. Was also able to made a lot of memories with my wife, my family and my friends. In November I was lucky enough the travel to Japan one more time.
Collecting wise, it was a difficult year. I got very clear what my goals are (both Pokemon card and video game related) and were able to make a lot of progress towards those. Unfortunately, due to the skyrocketing prices of some cards/sets, my goal to finish the VS Series was not completed.
All in all I’d consider it as a good year and I am looking forward to whatevre 2026 might bring.
Picking multiple people in e4 as groomsmen for my wedding.
After ten years of collecting finally adding one of the four illusive foreign promo Pikachu to my collection (which I’ve only seen two times prior in those ten years), was defintely the highlight for my Pokémon collection this year:
Outside of Pokémon, this year was kinda mediocre, without too much specials. ![]()
I do still enjoy the two-weekly massages at the office, though.
One of the better working condition at my current job, haha (and the work itself and colleagues are great as well of course). But that’s not really a highlight of 2025.

2025 was a pretty wonderful year.
However, flying from Canada to the UK to purchase a grail Komiya card was the cherry on top.
I only purchased the Munchlax, but @pokemon_matt brought the other two just to share.
Here is the last picture of the trio together.
Probably hunting this card to the ends of the earth with my internet friends, and ultimately acquiring it in exchange for a custom painting of a Slowpoke dressed as a priest.
Surviving is a highlight right…
? I did continue to chip away at upgrading to sealed decks so thats exciting. Only about 20 left.
Gotta shake off this funk and get to completing more of what i start. Excited to find out what 2026 brings.
In Pokemon:
I picked up over 50 new cards in 2025. All WotC PSA 9 holos. I am so fortunate to have done that without spending any new money… all of it was paid for by selling modern sealed products and shifting towards my vintage goals.
In personal life:
I went on some amazing trips to Germany, England, South Korea, and Taiwan.
But the trip to Germany was the absolute highlight. I went to the Stuttgart area with 12 family members to visit our ancestral home — literally. We actually went and visited an old house that had belonged to our family since the 1600s. Our distant German cousins took us around for sightseeing all week. The highlight was going for a ride in a Zeppelin, a Goodyear blimp! It’s surprisingly difficult to get access to them, but southern Germany is a place where you can book a ride! We all went up in one and had the most amazing view of the town, landscape, and lake below.
Pokemon cards went up. Real estate went down.
So I sold some cards to buy my first home!
Congrats on the home!
I sold aload of my crypto and nfts and brought a lovely little cottage in north wales! was a big moment in my life as it was my first house and I have no mortgage! Now I have more money to buy cards lol
That looks better than lovely. Congrats!

Besides the Jungle test prints, the Tekno Scyther may be the rarest Scyther in existence. Happy to have secured this for my collection in 2025.
I can’t remember if I said this before but I really like the clean fretboard!
