Going outside more was the biggest benefit of my 2025. For collecting I have to say its becoming a slowpoke collector and collecting Chinese Pokemon cards, I really love the Pikachus and hope to get the Mew in 2026

My second daughter was born, I passed a big work certification, and I started getting back into the hobby as a Japanese promo collector. I was for sure inspired and guided by @mrbubbles

This is so tough! 2025 was a massive year for me collecting-wise and also with other experiences.
For Pokemon: while I would include obtaining the TMB “Hawaii” Lucky Stadium at an extremely close second place, I think I would put attending 2025 Worlds and the E4 meetup at the top of the list. Most cards can be obtained at a later date, but you can only attend a given worlds one time, plus I had never been to worlds so that alone was a great check off the list of things I’d like to do. Catching up with old friends, making new ones, and seeing how everything at worlds works was a great experience (the Pokemon museum display was super cool).
For my personal life: I got engaged and couldn’t be more excited to have found my person. The fact that she now enjoys Pokemon at any level is a major bonus 
but outside of that she is just wonderful and makes me feel whole.
What a year it has been! Thanks for the prompt to force me to reflect a bit more.

A random woman said that I have nice eyes, made my year. I haven’t seen her since but I’ll take what I can get. Besides that I’ve been blessed with food on my plate and a roof over my head so I’d say I’ve had a pretty good year. Could always be worse.

Newbie here- to be honest the last 6 months being able to share this hobby with my 6 year old son has been one of the most surprising, entertaining and truly rewarding experiences I could imagine. When I was a kid I was a huge baseball card collector and have fond memories of my dad taking us to the local card shop and buying us cards (although not super engaged he definitely fueled our passion for it).
As hard as I tried the past few years to get my son into sports cards it wasn’t until a friend at his school have him his first few Pokemon cards that he turned me on to the Pokemon scene and now I (we) are completely hooked! I will never forget the day I took him to our first card show - bought a pikachu birthday celebrations card for him and the rest has been history. It gives us so much to bond over and is so much more than shiny pieces of cardboard. So happy to be a part of this great community of collectors and share with all of you!

Collecting related: I fell in love with Pokémon again after a very busy period in my life. My Mudkip and other cards make me smile every day, and for the first time in a long while, I’m not only focused on work anymore.
Non-collecting related: Watched St. Vincent live this summer! I’ve followed her since around 2014. I missed the first leg of her European tour because I was still in Indonesia, and I also missed her first concert in Indonesia because I had already moved to Germany. When she announced the second leg of the European tour, I immediately grabbed a ticket. Hands down, one of the best nights of my life.

This year my purchases focused around modern stuff, many sealed items and graded cards from SwSh/SV were added in collection. Overall the warmest memory ( pun intended ) was this Heat Wave Arena opening. 
Before this I wasn’t aware it was possible to pull 2 good cards from same box, the same thing happened again later with Glory of Team Rocket. After watching some large opening videos it seems finding one in each case isn’t even guaranteed, sellers did amazing job shipping out the right products.

Getting married was definitely the highlight of my year! We were planning it for about two years so it was great to see everything come together and thankfully the day was perfect.

2025 was honestly a very difficult year, but did regarding pokemon i think the highlight was opening an unlimited fossil NL boosterpack. It was listed for sale nearby but the seller was a bit hesitant, had to bid quite a bit to convince him to sell it to me. Opening such a rare pack was very exciting and luckily i didnt pull a theme deck rare. I submitted all the cards that werent available in theme decks and picked them up some weeks ago.
Ps : kabutops, dragonite and articuno were not from the pack. The other dutch fossil was.
