i couldnt imagine the cost on this. would be crazy.
Yea charizard alone was in excess of ā¬2000 in psa 5-6 conditions on a few, id have had to put off slab collecting altogether for 5-6 months to complete. Not worth it for me although it would look beautiful
Cool topic!

shadowless 1st ed fossil and jungle
I opened my first box of the Korean ultra shiny gx set and I might try to complete it and just keep my Japanese boxes sealed. I donāt know if I just got really lucky, but the pull rates seem to be really nice for a korean set. I pulled 3 normal shinies and 2 full arts (1 shiny, 1 trainer). Never have a seen a Korean set have better pulls than Japanese or English.
Other than that, Iāve been working on every set between shadowless and gym challenge over the years, with the occasional neo sets sprinkled in. Most are near-complete (minus 1st edition gym sets and neo), but I can never stick to 1 thing for long
I have a binder for every set, but right now Iām working specifically on finishing upā¦
Neo Destiny 1st Edition
Plasma Freeze + all card variants (with all the Leafeons being the biggest PITA)
ex Dragon Frontiers (still searching for that Prerelease Dragonairā¦)
And Platinum Arceus
I try to pick 3 or 4 at a time and hone in on those sets, ex Dragon Frontiers is the one Iām closest to finishing now
I plan on making a general collection thread eventually D:
Focusing on a couple different sets right now.
-
Pokedex for 1-251 made from Japanese sets Base-Neo. I think Iām around 70% complete on this.
-
Bandai Carddass 1997 set, just getting started on this. Grabbing prisms when I can.
-
VS Series, just started this as well. Picked up a lot of 45 cards recently and plan to complete the set.
If anybody can help towards completing these, shoot me a message! Rather spend cash here than eBay.
Jungle and Fossil Unlimited
Update: + Base, Team Rocket, Gym Heroes and Gym Challenge Unlimited
@pkmnflyingmaster canāt wait to see it.
I completed an Expedition binder set and was thinking of doing Aquapolis or VS.

Let me know if you have trouble finding the VS uncommons, I had a really hard time finding them for a reasonable price. I know an eBay seller who has a few sets left in NM-Mint condition but they donāt have them advertised
I try to keep my personal collection as lean as possible, but with GX Ultra Shiny, I just canāt help myself.
Iām working on English master sets, with all the misprints and variations. Iām probably 75%-80% done, but I havenāt even touched the 1999-2000 Fossil set and Iām missing big cards like Stadium Challenge Deoxys and No Damage Ninetales. I would like to grab one of those 12-pocket binders so I can put 1st Ed Base, Shadowless, Unlimited, and 4th Print together.
Binder setup right now is large D-ring binders with the black Ultra Pro side-loading pages. Theyāre a little sturdier than normal clear pages, which is what matters most to me, and Iām extraordinarily careful handling the pages and putting things away.
So what sleeve do people use inside their binders? I was thinking of getting perfect fits.

I use KMC Perfect Fits. Iāve seen people mention that they can damage or warp the card but Iām not sure how. They do fit snuggly, but if the card is sitting flat in a binder, Iām not sure what damage they can do. Regular penny sleeves sometimes fit a little snuggly in side loading pockets so I shy away from them.
You could be like Scott and not sleeve your cards. Iām starting to lean that way a bit. My binder collection isnāt grade worthy and Iām not ripping these cards in and out of their pockets like I did when I was a kid. Sleeveless would give you the best clarity.
@lamplamp, thanks, Iāll keep that in mind!
I actually just put a few mtg sets in binders with clear penny sleeves, they look nice! Typically I sleeve pokemon holos. But as @benoit489, pointed out, you loose some clarity adding sleeves, especially deck sleeves. I used to do perfect fits but some warped over time. Good old Penny sleeves work best for me!
Thanks, I think Iām going to go with the perfect fits. Mine arenāt grade worthy either, but I do want them to stay as nice as when I get them.
I use the Clear Ultra Pro Deck Sleeves. I really like them and they fit nicely in binders.
good question re sleeves. i just use clear penny sleeves. i think ultra pro make them? cant remember. the binder i use is the cheap pokemon one that looks like pokeball and doeant have rings. will upgrade to one of those fancy ultra pro ones when the sets have fattened out a bit.
I use the clear Ultra Proās as well! The pages I bought are narrow and regular penny sleeves are too tall for them Seems like Japan has shorter generic clear sleeves, though.
