So far my biggest transaction for buying a card for $260. It also turned into my biggest loss in the hobby after selling it haha.

Most I’ve sold was 2 PSA 10 cards for $475 total

Biggest purchase was $1700 USD

My biggest sale… i dont sell often. I wanna say for an individual card it was probably around $500?

What was the assessed trade value back then? The haul you sent out is pretty staggering

Yeah, the German Birthday Pikachu is extremely rare. I’ve only seen four copies thus far, and rumors has it they were given at German tournaments back in the day (not sure if they’re participation or winner prizes, though).
I was bidding against a high-end German collector, hence why it ended up this high, though. I was expecting to pay ~1-2k USD before I started bidding… :weary: Still, I’m happy to have it in my collection now.

Apart from the German Art Academy Mew, it’s also the most expensive German Pokémon TCG card in general. If it’s the rarest, I’m not entirely sure, since I’m still missing two other German Pikachu cards I’ve only seen twice each (Surf-Pikachu and Flug-Pikachu), and some of the other WotC era promos are also very hard to find… The Surf-Pikachu and Flug-Pikachu are also two of just eleven Pikachu cards I’m missing to ‘complete’ my Pikachu collection rn. (Although it sounds closer than it really is, considering I’m also missing the SNAP Pikachu and five Art Academy Pikachu. )

Largest sale is my PSA 10 Masters Scroll for ~ 25k earlier this year

Largest buy is my PSA 9 Kangaskhan for 98k agreed value involving cash and trade in 2021.

About $17k. I also added $3k cash to make it $20k even. This was negotiated December 2019 - January 2020.

Right before prices got crazy. Good timing

Have you checked which side of the trade has increased in value more? I know it doesn’t change the outcome and you finally having the snap is all that matters but could be a fun thought that chansey has risen in value so much more that it was basically the last possible moment to do that trade after all the years you were working for it

Most expensive card I bought was $800.

Most expensive card I sold was $5000 for a single card. I had a Alt-Art MFC 1st Edition Dark Paladin that had been sitting in my binder for about 15 years. Was showing folks in discord some of my childhood cards and a ton of people pointed out that I needed to look it up. Graded it with PSA, came back a 10, sold it shortly after to an old member here. Was able to pay off a student loan debt and used a portion of it to purchase the original 1st Edition Dark Paladin as a memory.

For as much shit I talk about the “dark times” of 2020-2022 where my beloved TCG hobbies exploded in cost, this is the positive side of it. When you find that random card that is worth a small fortune.

That did happen to me with a few lucky cards, some of them also surprisingly yugioh.

Speaking of MFC I did have some Dark Magician Girls that I was shocked, truly shocked, at the value of them in 2020 when just years prior was buying them for $10 or whatever. I remember selling a HP copy for $100, a NM for $300, and a graded copy for $500. Good feels. But altogether there were so many yugioh cards I pulled 10 years ago that graded 10’s that sold for very impressive amounts, that has funded a lot of the cards I have bought in the last few years. So it works out.

Both ends of the trade have increased in value so I think it’s still a pretty even trade.

Largest sale for a single card is 6k for a psa 8 shadowless zard, still a bit proud about timing the market as i practically never really sell anything

Largest buy would be a tropical wind 1999, in the lower five figures.

Huge margin with that one. They’re selling for like 2k now
