What, in your opinion, is the best SV set? (Investing)

Last year, I did a post on the first ´modern modern´ era, Sw/Sh, about what the best sets are, and I thought, let´s do SV since it is over now. This can both be a fun discussion and help for people looking for opinions.

SV is; Base - Destined Rivals.

Now, before it becomes clear that everybody thinks Destined Rivals, try to include things such as print-runs (not that we know exactly, but one can speculate that Destined Rivals will be printed more heavy) and personal preferance.

To make it more interesting, include a dark horse. A set that you think will do a lot better than it would appear now.

Lastly, specialty sets are excluded. We all know that 151 and Prismatic are very good sets, but they do not have a boosterbox, which makes it more difficult to compare. The time frame is 5 years from now.

I would say; Paldea Evolved (possibly printed lower and I think the Magikarp will prove to remain a big chase-card). As a dark horse I would say Temporal Forces. I think it´s a big sleeper. It has great art, Gengars, and seems to have been printed lower. It´s also on the older side, so reprints are less likely.

+SV10.5 Black Bolt & White Flare

Most people will point to Destined Rivals or 151 because of the largest array of popular Pokémon in an SV set. Unironically I think Black Bolt & White Flare will be a strong contender because it has by far the worst modern grading ratios for a completed set I’ve seen since Evolutions

I made a similar thread, it just wasnt really about investing. But imo a set’s “inevitability” isnt really determined until after it has gone out of print. We dont have all that info for SV so its too early to tell.

even in the recent past of SWSH we didnt know how sets like fusion strike and Crown zenith would do until after they stopped printing. The opinion on them did a complete 180

It shows that people generally fall back on familiar Pokémon no matter how criticised the sets were at the time. SV era also demonstrates that stubbornness to collect only Pokémon established within the market is the result of a greater obsession with market value than Pokémon itself, which is unfortunate

Yeah, agreed to an extent. But, speculating is always possible.
