The r/WallStreetBets of Pokemon.
Worse I heard. Actual pull rate of Moonbreon should be 1 in 2,000 packs at least. Some shops opened all their stocks (by customersâ purchases + degen in-store), but no Moonbreon! Anecdotes like these used to be horrifying. But after the 2021 insidersâ thefts were exposed, everything becomes âansweredâ.
A PSA 10 Moonbreon? One copy? Some collectors are hoarding multiple PSA 10 copies of Moonbreon! Just take a stroll thru FB or Insta. (I voted âYesâ btw if youâre interested.)
I was just curious and I value the opinion of people here on e4 more than those on FB and IG. Obviously no wrong answers though. I am sure there are worse ways to spend money and truthfully it takes a strong person to turn down 50% market value on a popular card. but the 50% of people saying no here leads me to believe the more experienced collectors wager they can make better gains with 500$ than if they put it into a moonbreon. Which is the info I was more curios about
ok but that can be said for literally everything, stand for something or stand for nothing type of equation.
I think a lot of people are trying to justify themselves with patterns or personal beliefs and mistaking those for the definitive future of a card that seemingly lives rent free in the head of the people who donât even own (or want to own one) & are looking to settle their confirmation bias. no one knows where things are headed, but everything ends someday.
i donât like the waifus either damnit.
Like zard collectors hoarding multiple copies of the same zard card, nobody in the right frame of mind will turn down a decent PSA 10 copy below current market price of their favorite card, unless it has multiple QC issues like, printlines, whitenings + 40/60 OC.
the poll was moreso leaning towards investors, not people who just want the card for their collection. Those people I am sure would take 50% market price for a collection piece every day of the week
Its good to know that the poll is broken in the first place since it let me vote for both options. Currently if you remove my fraudulent vote for yes, it would be a 50% rate.
If you noticed, I used $100 which is way below current market price but possibly was available for that amount during the glut of product to show what it wouldâve cost during its âdayâ.
But, anyway, donât let me stop you from making straw men.
I love it when a price of a card (somebody wanted) is going up and they call it âbecause there seems to be price manipulationâ .
And at the same time if a price goes down itâs suddenly âhow the market works/supply and demandâ.
btw I might be one of the few, but I serious DONâT like the moonbreon card at all.
I got reminded of these delusional posts on pokemon subreddits when i read this thread. All from the same poster.
I canât tell whether these posts are being written seriously, written as a social experiment, or generated by ChatGPT.
Oh I think this guy is serious. I always see his posts pop up from time to time, talking about his beloved moonbreon.
The good ole Moonbreon Holy Grail Hypothesis!
Where the trend will always be your friend, current demand will always project forwards into the future, diamond hands
, and because everyone I know it wants it, even my wifeâs boyfriendâŚ
Oops wait this isnât r/WallStreetBets âŚ
Yo Guys
Usually I donât mind but since this is my thread, and I am getting notifications for every postâŚ
Can we stop making fun of random people and communities and go back to the constructive discussions and good vibes I came to this Forum for?
It wasnât all bad seeing the 1st edition Charizard with the moonbreon really puts it into perspective for me.
But the gap is large enough that my point still stands even if we substitute $260 (the current cost of 36 packs) for $100 â itâs comparatively cheap to open a moonbreon.
Not to mention that itâs actually possible to buy Evolving Skies sealed product at current market value â you wonât even be able to find 2-3x Deoxys or TRR boxes (let alone 6) without offering significantly (30-40%+) above current market value. Whereas if one wanted to offer 10% above market value for Evolving Skies boxes, one could acquire near-endless quantities of boxes.
Am i the only person who absolutely hates when cards are described as âgrailsâ?
I had the chance to get a Moonbreon once but the seller was this weird dude, bedridden by an old injury, who lived in a house surrounded by dead trees. Was still gonna buy it until he started yelling at me that I was unworthy, so I just kinda left. Sometimes I wonder how heâs doingâŚ
Definitely just another part of the âinvestor hypeâ side of the hobby
