Plasma storm Charizard requiring a fighting energy in lieu of fire energy. Cool but I don’t think anyone cares lol
The funniest thing about that is that Blaine’s Charizard from Gym Challenge also had an error with a Fighting Energy where a Fire Energy should’ve been.
It was corrected, however the corrected version is super rare.
There’s an official erratum for this presumably to give credit to the correct illustrator:
But not even TPC after making the announcement bothered to issue corrected prints. I’ve been confirming that there were no corrected copies for at least a year before claiming my S-P collection to be complete.
The English print has 3!
Fighting type Torkoal is funny. I actually learned about this on E4 and never noticed it IRL, maybe because Fighting and Fire have a similar color, and Torkoal with a secondary type makes sense if you’re distracted
One of the two very first Pokémon TCG cards released on October 15th, 1996 was also the first error: Ken Sugimori as illustrator instead of Keiji Kinebuchi on the Pikachu:
Of course, this got corrected, so doesn’t really count for this thread: there were 2,000 glossy Keiji Kinebuchi releases for a lottery in 1998 (and the non-glossy variant of November 30th, 1996 also had the correct illustrator).
What’s lesser known and uncorrected however, is that the Portuguese ivy Pikachu from the Australian Pikachu World Collection 2000 nonet with Pikachu tail stamp has the same Ken Sugimori illustrator error:
Even though all other versions (3x English, 1x German, 1 more Japanese) do have the correct Keiji Kinebuchi illustrator.

As for some other uncorrected Pikachu errors I’m aware of (although they aren’t too obvious tbf):
German no.4 WotC WB Pikachu: two spaces instead of one before ‘Gewicht’ (weight):
Spanish Shining Legends reverse holo Pikachu: all the other versions have a line break after ‘hace’ in the attack text, but the reverse holo is the only one where the ‘20’ is on the first line instead of second (no idea why this is even a thing tbh):

The shiny Zoroark in Next Destines has a stage error that shows the amount of bars (not sure what else to call it) as a stage 2 Pokemon. Look next to the HP and compare the two.
Corrected version:
*I just realized the title said uncorrected. My bad ![]()

having both be different is super funny. Its not even a case of “we fixed it later”. Its simultaneous. I assume in the process for printing cards, that they caught the error before it went to print. But for whatever reason, they have two files, one for regular, and one for reverse holo. And changing one doesn’t change the other. So they forgot to also change the reverse holo one. That is my guess.
For number 2 isnt that intended? Is it saying that any extra energy works towards the extra +10 damage like fire, psychic, etc therefore not needing to specify water?
As someone colorblind, I never would have looked deeper to see this lol
Spanish World Collection Pikachu has a typo in the illustrator text, I guess you could argue that there is a “correct” version given the non-world collection printing was correct, but they never corrected the illustrator mispelling on the world collection version to my knowledge.
