It’s crazy to me how much of a stark contrast there is between the Japanese cards and English. The Japanese always have a better holo and the artwork pops with more vivid colors.
I’m cheating, but I really can’t pick one out of two: (1) favorite card of favorite Pokemon, and (2) favorite card from when I was a kid. Sadly, the latter will be headed off to PWCC vault soon with the rest of my PSA 10 1st ed base so who knows if/when I’ll actually see it again.
The history and the red backs makes it one of my favorite “set” of Pokémon cards. I was able to add to my collection this past weekend and now I’m 12/13 in PSA 10 for Trainer Deck B. Something that I’m quite proud of.
Hmm, this is a new one, since technically my prized possessions are all my favorite cards and thus have been addressed in previous threads as well as collection thread, so I’ll just show off this beauty–my Ninetales. In terms of a PSA slabbed card, this is my most prized. I just love the black flame on the shadowless backgrounds.
Admittedly it’s 2 cards but you just can’t name one without the other. The Gold Star Latis are jaw-droppingly beautiful, even among other Gold Stars. Certainly my favorite cards currently in my possession.
I’ve mentioned it in a previous thread but for me it’s my birthday pikachu. Not even close to my most valuable card or favourite artwork or Pokemon (I’m a squirtle person) but since I wrote my name on it as a kid it’s priceless to me. Like I had my own personal card that was just mine. Always the one I love showing off first.
My first “big purchase” when I began collecting again about a year ago. It has my favorite artwork, a fantastic history, and some of the best Pokémon . I’ll never forget holding that card in my hands after I got it in the mail! I was so nervous that whole week. This card in addition to the Pokémon Center were the most expensive cards in the WOTC Black Star Promos set, and some of the last ones I needed to complete the set (This was the first set I ever completed so getting this card was a huge deal to me!) I spent about $160 on it a year ago.
