I mean that there are a lot of assholes, period. I don’t think the Pokemon hobby has a higher concentration of assholes than the general public.

I think its a 50/50 split, some do, some dont, i could flip a coin for rayquaza, but jirachi i like in japanese, where zamazenta i like in english, it all comes down to how the border looks with the colours.

Can’t speak for zorloth, but maybe he meant to imply that there are a lot of assholes in life or on the internet in general.
At least I have encountered way less unpleasant people on e4 than on most other parts of the internet.
Of course e4 alone is not “the hobby”, so maybe you’re referring to certain social media platforms or fanbases I gladly ignore.

@muk ,detracting my statement to include the whole of the internet is asinine when I am clearly mentioning this in a Pokémon forum thread for unpopular opinions.
As for not referring to E4, there are a good few primary social media platforms where Pokémon collectors usually gather.
Take note how I am not commenting about other platforms and that I am specifically saying this here on E4.

I never said there weren’t assholes in this hobby or on this forum. Your comment stated that there were specifically a lot of assholes in this hobby. And my response was that I don’t think there’s a higher concentration of assholes in this hobby than anywhere else.

What do you compare the ‘e4 asshole amount’ to if not the whole internet? That would be the logical benchmark IMO.
My experiences were overwhelmingly positive. The handful of e4 members I usually disagree with are neglectable in the grand scheme. I’m sorry you had negative experiences, but I’m sure you understand that most people here don’t like to be called assholes. Even if you didn’t name any names and this is the unpopular opinion thread.

If I had to compare your statement alone, then in respect to the entire internet that is pretty much what I would expect as a standard. What kind of response did you expect when you come here and say many people of e4 are assholes? It’s an unpopular opinion (and unproductive criticism) and here is the pushback to it.
