Japanese boxes are actually the worst. Totally indistinguishable from any distance at all. The artwork is way too busy and look almost as bad as the god awful full arts (whoops, another unpopular opinion;). It’s like throwing all your cards in a shoebox. They become indistinguishable even if there are some treasures inside. Both Jpn boxes and FA’s never learned the lesson that less is more.

@garyis2000 For modern, the opposite is true. English modern boxes are the same white background with an updated lower panel. If you watch my video where I showed some japanese boxes, each artwork is unique and entirely different then the previous set.

Another unpopular opinion, when people use the emotional fallacy “think about the little guy” you are all adults buying children’s cards. The “littlest guy” adult is spending way more compared to any kid, or majority of the world for that matter.

Yu-Gi-Oh! has rarer and more interesting releases than Pokemon. It’s generally much more fun to collect.
Pokemon cards generally aren’t that rare and the market is saturated with the same cards.

Full Art Trainers, especially Tag Team Trainers, only exist because of a lack of actually interesting Pokemon in modern Genererations.
Also the female Trainers make me highly uncomfortable. I could never show any normal person outside the hobby a binder full of these lightly dressed teen girls and not feel awkward.
