There does not need to be another eeveelution
Is this because the 8 already cover it or are they overutilized in marketing and promotions?
nah, we need a bug eevee
Ghost eevee. It will be the true death of the eevolution line. ![]()

Yes everything feels covered and I feel if they make another one it just feels unnecessary. Do we really need a ghost eevee or a bug eevee or a dragon
Personally, the eeveelution line won’t feel complete to me until every type has an Eevee (Eevee’s my favorite Pokémon, so I am a bit bias). I can understand why that would seem unnecessary to other people. The current eeveelutions do a good job at covering a wide range of types, and I think if no more eeveelutions came out most people would be okay with that (although maybe a bit disappointed).
But what if Eevee got an evolution that looked like Rhyperior?
As in the evolution design sucked.
There have been as many badly designed cross-generation evolutions as there have been good ones.
I’m not sure I would rather have an eeveelution for every type with some of the designs sucking, or just stick with the current eight. On one hand, Eevee as a concept doesn’t feel quite complete to me without an evolution for each type. On the other hand I don’t know if I could enjoy seeing the eeveelutions if some of their designs stuck out like a sour thumb. After thinking on it for a bit, I think I would prefer sticking with the current eight over having poor designs being added to the mix. Hopefully if Pokémon ever does add another eeveelution it blends in well with the current ones.
I know it’s been over 10 years… but I think if they did the same thing as they did with sylveon (who admittedly sticks out a little, but still feels on brand) I’d be ok with a dragon/steel type eeveelution who knows? Legends Z-A may contain another eeveelution!
Pokémon Black & White are more fun than Black 2 & White 2
In Eevee Heroes, 85/69 is the better card rather than 95/69. In my opinion, both are good, but artistically, it’s no contest… in the same vein, all of the V’s are better than V-MAX regarding the eeveelution cards.
Lowkey I agree (so does my wallet) ![]()
This is NOT a unpopular opinion…
I did a little investigation into the possible popularity of the V Umbreon and V-MAX Umbreon.
Of the 107896 cards graded by PSA within the Eevee Heroes Japanese set, as of today (20.05.2024), 92932 are graded a 10. For number 85, there are 7556 grade 10, and 95 has 5187 grade 10. In English, the cards are found within Evolving Skies; 85 is 189, and 95 is 215. As of today, PSA has graded 149442 cards, and 94898 are graded 10. For 189, there are 3869 graded 10, and 215 has 11346 graded 10.
PSA has thus far graded a total of 257338 cards across both sets; 187830 are 10s, which is 72.989%; for 85 and 189 combined, 11425 are grade 10, this is only marginally more than the English PSA 10 V-MAX Umbreon. V Umbreon accounts for 6.082% of the total, whereas V-MAX Umbreon consists of 8.802% of the total PSA 10 population of today…
It is fascinating how there are differences between the Japanese and English numbers of graded examples at PSA. I haven’t checked Beckett or CGC, but these, in my opinion, are unlikely to alter the result in a significant way.
I will state this doesn’t account for re-grades, or if I include Beckett and CGC data, it would consist of resubmissions of the same card to other companies. Additionally, there may be a number of copies which were graded and have since been removed from their slab.
I also continue my view that the better of the two arts, the V Umbreon, is the more unpopular, and it baffles me.
The tropical wind cards are at best: mid, and at worst: beat.
Number of graded doesn’t equal popularity though.
The VMAX JP ones are harder to pull, lower in quantity, thus less graded.
