@alovell,

Not many can get through a post as long as some of yours. Less is often more.
It is very nice of you to put that much time in to express your thoughts for our community that you are a welcome addition to:)

Though I normally agree with this statement, it read surprisingly well. It was less of an incoherent rant and more of a structured opinion piece.

And on that topic, I’ve seen the same in videogames. Every new console launch, there are always scalpers having stacks of consoles in their possession on launch day. Nothing you can do about it but to outsmart them by preordering earlier and/or not buying from them and waiting until a new batch hits the shelves. As long as people are paying 2x or 3x retail for products still in print, these scalpers are not going to go away.

To make up for the 5ban machine Pokémon have invested everyone and I mean as many artists. From people at the addendums of generation 1 (Himeno, Komiya, Harada, Ooyama, Tanaka, Kimura) all the generational growths (Morii, Sui, Kusube, Fukuda, Kawayoo) to artists who started a few sets ago (Murayama, Chibi, Iribi, Anesaki) to conglomerate and collaborate in fusing with this Arita/5ban per TTGX character into making the special alternative art rares. I was amazed when I discovered this unity looking up on Bulba thinking Kawayoo and Murayama were the same along with Arita doubling up on some Tag Teams but I got happy to find out how wrong I was.

They’re the most inspiring set of chase cards that they’ve made since the Crystals. Yes, the Gold Stars are profoundly more powerful in rarity but aren’t aesthetically all that and by not being diverse fall sometimes into the same pattern as having a single artist design all the big gun chase cards in the same pattern. But by having an effort like these Special Arts, it creates a unity that adds another layer of depth to resonance and reverence.

Dave Pratchett would be a close call to Bosch if they went that route, his work to me is hit or miss like Cathedral. Not to be off-topic but surely @mikejofthecoast you listened to Cathedral?

A lighter unpopular (but still not called upon enough to warrant optimal potential), somewhat limbo opinon is that Pokémon need to bring more deals collaborating with both past (MarioLuigi/Edvard Munch gave chance to see our loved artists within Pokémon return as predecessor to the continuing urnothodox godly TTGX Special Full Arts). Also the other side of the coin is collaborate with contempoary artists such as with the recent Eevee GX by Q-rais. 2019’s Munch card, who I’m sure really appreciated all the attention imo :wink:), Takashi Murakami and absolutely more Junji ito which I touched on a recent post emphasising this topic which is where we can follow.

@kurtblakeinfini nah ive never listened to or heard of cathedral. I’ll check them out! And that other art you posted that’s similar to bosch’s is gnarly too!

I’m risking my life by saying this, and will probably be banned from the internet and found dead in a ditch somewhere, but I hate Bladerunner…
Ah feels good to get that off my chest lol.
Quick brain! say something about Pokemon to create a diversion! Ugh…psa 9 cards are undervalued compared to psa 10s! Phew😓

I don’t want to start this, this conversation would be endless :joy:(anyways I like the new ones too, they have some issues? Yeah, just like the old ones, but honestly I like them, even the spin-offs are good, probably rogue one is one of the best Star Wars movies imho :slightly_smiling_face:…my favourite one? Maybe it’s a commonplace, but it’s esb:grin:)

Unpopular thought… I’d rather own raw cards than graded cards. The slabs have their benefits when it comes to protection and establishing authenticity and a objective grade/price, but for me, nothing beats holding a card raw and/or putting in into a binder set.
Hope that is a short enough post :blush:

There has not been a decent Star Wars movie since Phantom Manace and Clone Wars. But… I am not gonna derail this further, and I ain’t trolling

Star Wars is a blight on cinema which will never truly go away.

AI should be monitored at least as much as weapon production. But I guess nobody cares about it until it´s too late.
