What are your Pet Peeves in Pokemon?

On second thought this guy sounds like a legend. If we crush the kids hopes and dreams today, we’ll have less moonbron stonkers tomorrow.

You have a good point….

My Halloween costume should be CharizardBaller69 with the goal of stunting on all these kids to inflict mass future psychic damage.

I have to imagine that your life is pretty hollow if you’re flexing Pokemon prices on elementary school kids.

Now that’s funny! :joy:

Anyway, to correct your msg:

“People who tell me how to handle my pet peeves.”

I think to tie in @qwachansey and @kamon experiences, the pet peeve or perhaps current problem are people not enjoying collecting. It’s so weird to log in, type up some hateful drivel, for what is supposed to be a hobby. I don’t even know how to categorize Pokémon for people flexing or trashing cards. It’s just supposed to be an outlet to share and enjoy.

That’s why I ignored your that reply. :joy:

Instagram and Facebook should have the dislike button “:-1:” , so that people won’t waste time typing drivels to explain why they dislike the post. I mean who’s gonna have time to read thru the comments section?

Some people are going to spew negatively no matter what they’re in. Pokémon just happens to be the vessel.

It’s like light and shadow, both will co-exist.

You can’t completely light up every corner of the world until there’s no shadow. Even the sun can’t do that.

There would bound to be negative things but the crux is… do your mind perceive it as negative OR “the other side”?

WTF?! Bahaha! Parents egos are just as fragile as kids these days. Where did society go wrong?! It’s like when I sub-teach at a competition dance studio instead of my usual music studio, and all the competition parents are using their kids one single “trick step” to one-up each other. When they can’t even play or hold a rhythm…

This is awesome! Yeah, I wonder if socials have lead people to forget when it’s not about them… (whether they’re telling someone their post is lame, or showing off their dope pulls.

My pet peeve is when sellers use their own “grading” scale and “B” is like basically “went through the washing machine”-quality because there’s also B+, B++, B+++, A- - - ,A- -, A-, A, A+,A++, A+++, S- - -, S- -, S-, S, S+, S++ and S+++ (which by the way is STILL barely passing as NM!). AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH.

Indeed. So, A-±- is a B+, right?

I do use my own, but it’s clear and descriptive, “near mint”, “played” and with specific details. When I started using it, I was one of the few specific, and detailed scales on eBay. In fact, a few people stole mine, WITH FORMATTING! But whatever, I took it as a compliment.

If you’re talking about a specific German seller, I think I know who you might mean =D I’ve bought from them a couple times and realized that anything below “A+” is LP at best. Even just “A” is a washing machine condition. They have some cool Japanese cards though.

When you have the item listed in one currency and someone overseas messages you an offer in their own currency

I don’t watch much videos where they pull cards because, a) they’re mostly aimed at a younger target audience, but what I really, really don’t like is how cards are projected as nothing more than value.

I get the excitement and appeal when “hunting” for monetary value, but they barely look at the commons and uncommons. As someone who loves and appreciate the artwork, this often makes me cringe, especially when there are kids watching. I’m sure this is more of a general complaint than a pet peeve but here it is.

U can basically switch the price tag on any 2 cards like for example Umbreon V TG and Moonbreon and the monetary crowd will always say the most expensive card is the best card of the set

And its the same cycle hate it till gets expensive lol

People not knowing the definition of what makes an Alt Art anymore, only by monetary value

When TGs/CSR, SIRs etc are Alt Arts but the community dont count it because its not the money

He’s more than likely referring to the big Japanese sellers on ebay like the one selling this item here.

This seller isn’t the most egregious but a ton of them do this. And like he said, it’s far more common than not to have the ranking be B+ or higher and have the middle scale (A- or A+ territory) be heavily played haha

It just crushes your hopes when you see that hard-to-find card listed as S+ and you already know it is going to be played, but you still gotta go confirm it with some faint glimmer of hope that it is gonna be your lucky day =D

This can apply to other tcgs but I find it annoying when seller tapes the toploader with a scotch tape when buying singles online.
