my pet peeve is when they used to post those random mystery packs making lots incredibly annoying to search for. is that still happening? lol. nerds.
Yes its still and will always be a thing since lots of moms like to buy their kids mystery packs off the internet.
Ive stopped looking for lots since most of them are filled with junk now a days. I just buy the cards I want. Most lots are just low end modern stuff and I cant remember the last time Ive found a collection on ebay that was anything to write home about.
People who harp on the PSA 10 pop of a mass-printed card and create drama when the pop increases by 0.1%.
Come on, it’s mass-printed, not like it’s 1/1. Read. Then why don’t you collect 1/1 cards since pop bothers you so much?
This might be your friend that wanted a free illustrator. He’s saved up €150 euros now, so maybe worth reaching out to him
Yes that is the guy!! I am not exaggerating when I saw I have probably 10 accounts with that same message. IG spam is on another level!
People making comments that are normalized on the internet but would be insanely rude to say in person.
Here’s a recent example. I posted on IG my Pikachu 15th Anniversary Promo which is a card I love. I spend a lot of time working with light and angles to capture texture and was happy with how it turned out.
The comments were almost all positive, but unfortunately it’s human nature to focus on the negative outliers.
I get that 5ban isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. They have plenty of cards that make me roll my eyes as well, but they also have a bunch I love especially in the Black White Era. I don’t understand what would compel someone to comment this instead of keeping it to themselves. It’s just mean. Do they think I don’t read the comments?
I censored the name because I don’t want anyone to reply to this person, it’s better not to engage.
Well, that’s certainly a persistent message.
Needy, stalker, harassing message from user, completely devoid of punctuation, with minimal grammar.
I figured everyone had moved-on to using the updated ChatGPT, but I suppose the earlier version still have fans…
5Ban can actually do some really nice work, but because of the nature of CG, you have to find clever ways of adding that soulful spark. This one is SIIIiiiick! haha.
No way a young kid would know about Illustrator. Obviously an adult masquerading as an innocent and naive kid!
I would reply back, “No Illustrator for you. Santa told me you’re naughty naughty!” LOL
Eww, I think saying this to a child would get you on a few federal watchlists…
The person is expressing his freedom of speech, he was commenting on the card, NOT personally attacking you. So it’s ok. You should expect not everyone likes the things you do, there’re bound to be people who dislike.
Social media is like that, so long they’re not commenting on you, just let them be or ignore them.
???
This is not true. I was just poking fun at the goofiness of the suggested reply.
Should change your name to PokeHolmes!
Commented on author, instead of topic.
Fair! I think there is a chance that you are right about the ebay message about the illustrator!
Huh? Sure they can say what they think, doesn’t mean I’m not allowed to find it rude and unnecessary. What about my freedom of speech to call this a pet peeve?
He’s being a dick. Who comments something like that and isnt trying to be rude?
Chill it bro, just suggesting you ways to block out unwanted or disagreeable comments. Or you can be like me, don’t have Instagram at all.
This is literally a thread about pet peeves for people to complain
Anyway I have a new pet peev: people who tell me not to care about my pet peeves.
Here’s a recently developed pet peeve of mine:
Parents trying to flex on elementary school kids
Took my daughter to a local Kid’s Pokémon Trade Day a couple weekends ago (she just started 1st grade). Ran into several dads very willing to talk to other elementary school kids about their sick pulls. One guy was talking to us about how his son pulled a $2,600 card. This went on for several minutes and we eventually walked away lol.
I overheard him talking to other families about the same story and the value changed to $2k, $1,600, etc during our time there. He was clearly making it all up for attention. Virtually every kid there had low value cards (like we all did back in the day). My daughter was trading random commons and quarter value holos for other things of similar value.
Just let kids enjoy themselves and don’t make them feel bad for not having super sick pulls worth thousands of dollars. Charlotte loves basic energies and freaks out over them lol
