What are your other hobbies?

I used to play a lot of poker (still do from time to time), then shifted towards the Pokémon card game (since poker was getting more about making money instead of fun) and from there landed in the collection scène again- 'bout 3years ago.

Outside of collecting, my hobby is definitely baking. I love baking everything from squares, cookies, brownies, cakes, lemon loaves :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: (@funmonkey54) lol

This is going to sound super lame, but I legitimately love efficiency. I’ve done government contracting for three years working on efficiency-driven data management systems, I volunteer with two different local charities to create contextual efficiency solutions, and I love creating systems of organization within my own home. My wife has already learned that any day might involve a 15-minute crash course in how to utilize the new system of organization I’ve implemented in the supply closet, pantry, library, etc. Can’t get enough of it. There’s something soooo satisfying about putting in the same inputs and getting more out of it. Every time I make something more efficient, it feels like I’m a kid again and the gumball machine gave me two gumballs for my quarter.

Pokemon is probably my most abstract outlet in life. It’s ironically the one place I don’t focus too much on efficiency. Haha

My favorite pastimes are walking/hiking and listening to baseball games. (I also listen to a ton of music, but I don’t consider that a pastime — I couldn’t live without music.)

I love to walk long distances (10 miles or more) to areas of Tokyo that don’t see many tourists. Hidden neighborhoods, small temples, that sort of thing. Over the past 12 years, I’ve logged 28,000 miles. Yesterday I walked a half-marathon to the Tokyo Daibutsu, which is surprisingly not well-known, even among the locals.

I grew up listening to baseball on the radio, and that’s how I still prefer to follow games. However, I do catch an occasional game on TV (including Sean Manea’s no-hitter last month), and even less frequently in person (tonight I’m going to see the Yakult Swallows host the Hiroshima Carp).

My main hobbies are playing golf, watching sport and playing a bit of PS4. The sports I mostly watch are AFL (go tigers!), NBA, EPL, and cricket although I will happily sit down and watch any odd sport that comes on the tv ha. Golf is great for so many reasons but I can tell you after a hard day at work there’s nothing better than going to the driving range and hitting a few balls.

On the PS4 I’ve been dabbling lately in ESO (lvl 370 Nightblade) and Fortnite, with Rainbow Six Siege and Battlefield prob being the main ones over the last couple of years. I have a bunch of mates that all play so we pretty much just choose a game and we all jump into it. Probably my fav games in the past have been single player in Baldur’s Gate (the whole series) and GTA Vice City so I don’t mind a good story too! If anyone plays a bit of ESO on the NA server feel free to add me!

Used to be fishkeeping. When I lived in the UK it got out of control, and I had a 6 foot long tank hosting my breeding colonly of Malawi cichlids along with multiple grow out tanks for their fry. Sold off all my fish to buy my plane ticket to China and supplies etc.

Current hobby is growing things from seed. I enjoy growing all kinds of plants, the weirder the better. My favourite would be my big mimosa (shy grass) bush I grew in my old apartment. It’s so satisfying. I grow dragonfruit up on the roof, and I’ve just started planting pineapple and avocados in my apartment. I just like watching things grow! I’ve set up a garden for my students at school, and what started as just growing beans has slowly transformed into their own garden. The principal has given us the whole area and is encouraging the children to grow everything and anything they want - it’s their garden. Beautiful idea.

My weekend hobby for now is making YouTube videos. Just for a bit of fun but if I can get my channel to grow I might spend more time on it.

I have a background in video production, but mainly enjoy extreme sports. My buddies and I run a YouTube Channel in which we travel to different skateparks, host events, and work with younger kids. I know everyone likes “Fail Videos,” so here is a collection of falls.

I love skateboarding as much as I did when I started 17 years ago, playing guitar, reading books on various subjects, mechanical drawing, taking random classes, and of course, supporting my awesome kids in just about everything they do, and ensuring they have a bright future.
Plus, they absolutely love Pokemon.

Me with my poliwhirl chalk bag at Kangaroo Point, Brisbane yesterday. I didn’t fall and die so my cards aren’t hitting the market yet.

You and anybody else who rock climb are either crazy or have a death wish😱

@williamcoolman Not gonna lie, I feel slightly betrayed by the fact that your chalk bag isn’t a heracross.

It is a shame I know, but I’m not so crafty in that regard. I just chose from what was available.

Nice! My brother skated most of his life. I never was big into it, but I would always watch his videos. Here is one he published awhile back you might enjoy.
