Welcome, @rafaqua ! I think Staryu is pretty interesting. Donāt hear many saying itās their fave, but I think THAT is cool. A staryu collection would be interesting to seeā¦
Whatās important is that you enjoy whatever you collect and donāt allow it to overwhelm you. This is a BIG hobby. Too much to consume out there.

Iām into TCGās in general, thereās this game called Hearthstone that i got into a while ago, but itās extremely p2w so i turned to pokemon. I really like the aspect of collecting / trading physical cards, and actually owning them and them having value etc
Hi everyone, Iām starting an expensive but very beautiful collection: shining magikarps. Iāve never bought Pokemon cards before, not even packs but Iāve always liked Pokemon and especially Magikarp. I occasionally watch Pokemon tcg players open packs and Iāve seen variants of the shining Magikarp through the years and always really loved it. Iāve recently started a collection of trying to get āall 6ā variants, preferably at PSA10 (Aside from the fan club variant because thatās a bit unrealistic atm)
Neo Genesis 3 Japanese: PSA9
Japanese Fan Club 600p: maybe a bit too pricy for me atm
English first edition 2001 neo: looking for PSA10
English Unlimited 2001 neo: looking for PSA10
25th anniversary 2021 Japanese: PSA10
25th anniversary 2021 celebrations English: PSA10
Anyway, just thought Iād say hi, and share the beginnings of the collection. I really love this card, especially the original Japanese version, the holo is so pretty.
Anyone else have any weirdly specific collections theyād like to share? Hope everyone is having a great 2025 so far!
Welcome to e4! There are also ādouble holo errorā copies of the Neo Revelation Shining Magikarps. They can get pricey, but are so worth it.
Welcome, this forum is full of many collectors of weird tcg things from coins to every single pikachu imagineable.

I collect vintage English cards. I donāt have a shining Magikarp yet but itās on my list to purchase along with the other shining cards of that era. Iām currently working on my Base Set 1st Editions.
