I love the people who offer way below listing and then follow up with “I can pay right away” lol.

You see this type of thing at all price ranges, too. Earlier this week I literally had a guy message me about a $3.99 card offering $2 and saying “I can pay right away.” I seriously hope you can “pay right away” for a $2 card.

I don’t know why people think saying “I can pay right away” is some sort of incentive for the seller to sell at a lower price, especially when many of us have “require immediate payment” marked in the settings.

The truly admirable part about this is that @cullers took the time to respond to each person. Well done actually replying, my friend. That’s an ignore from me 99 percent of the time.

By now I have simply saved a templated ‘offer declined’ message that I copy paste each time I get an offer. I’ll leave you with the below which was so stupid that I didn’t bother to reply:

I would like to look at this guy’s paypal account, because I am sure his offer amounts to some leftover balance he has there which is to low to withdraw.
On a more serious note, this is a clear consequence of ebay setting the expectation among buyers by implementing the ‘Make an Offer’ button. I mean, for a company that contends with the likes of Amazon, it would make sense to not allow offers as it establishes a bargaining culture and a race to the bottom that results in lower profits for the seller community and lower fees for ebay.
