Anyone ever seen a crimped card like this? I’m told vertical crimps are incredibly rare. It’s on the front and back.

I can honestly say that in my twenty years of being in this hobby, this is the first time I’ve seen a crimp go through the middle of the card. Very cool card to own.
That’s some nasty damage
Hmmm interesting. Are we sure it is a factory error though and not done a third party? Not sure how hard that would be or if it is possible even…
Its a good question, but I found this locally, in a binder that I purchased for $100 here in Tacoma, WA.
It was a great buy without this card, and included things like a Charizard that was sealed up with packing tape . This has been in the binder since the guy was a kid. The purchase included things like an old gift box and the banme Barbo book.
I’m as confident as I could possibly be without having personally pulled it from the pack myself. It hasn’t been touched in 20+ years.
Not “incredibly” rare, but pretty rare. Yours is probably real but you should know that as with all crimped cards they’re easily faked.
I guess you could say you have the cream of the crop as far as crimped cards though.
Very likely fake damage. Not hard to do.
@garyis2000, there’s no way. It wasn’t advertised to me at all, and I probably would have got a discount for pointing out more damaged cards in the binder. Though I don’t doubt it’s possible to fake.
@garyis2000,were people faking these 20 years ago? I guess he could have bought a fake back then. Just seems super unlikely to me for some kid that also taped up his Charizard to have any clue about “errors”. To be honest, I would have thrown this straight in the trash when I was collecting as a kid.
List it for $1000 on eBay see what happens
You’d be surprised what we used to do to cards.
Never seen it with Pokémon before. Although I have seen some vertical crimps with Yu-Gi-Oh cards, so I guess it is possible.
Although as mentioned before, crimps and NFC Square Cuts are pretty easily faked.
Greetz,
Quuador
Rarely occurring damage is still damage XD
