Haha are you drunk posting!!

Learned something new today. Wonder if it will join the parent/child Kangaskhan Trophy and Unikarp Club one day lol. Does anyone know the story behind it or how many exactly were made?

Stadium Deoxys is a popular niche item, but the trophy khan and unikarp have a much larger market and demand.

I like the Stadium Challenge deoxys, but the only physical difference is the stamp. The same artwork is on multiple other set and promo cards, including a very similar regional championship card.

Or the Destiny Deoxys promo…
There were tons of those too…

Ohhh I see  thanks for the info, that definitely makes it a different contender.

The English “niche” market is a funny animal. I think a lot of Japanese exclusive collectors really struggle to ever have any intimate understanding of it. It’s underrated. I get messages a lot about cards like these, especially through Facebook communities, and the demand is out there. I think one thing that has really helped Japanese cards is how available they are. The last five years has shown constant availability for high end Japanese stuff. At any point in time if I wanted a trophy khan, all I had to do was pay up. It took me over a year of solid searching to find a stadium Deoxys that was for sale. That helps Japanese cards get conversation, visibility, so on and so forth.

I think the truly rare English cards also have a unique trait of actualizing high values right out the gate. Sometimes this has the effect it had on FPOs where the complete sets have a price floor. I’ll talk more about this quality another time.

English cards don’t get as many promos and exclusive releases, which is unfortunate. If they did, and they were as fun and interesting as is the case in Japan, the Japanese market values would be overtaken in no time. But the English market is growing. Fast. We have entire countries of people who speak the language of the cards barely touched by the market that are always having new doors opened up. English cards are fun.

But most of all, I’ll emphasize one angle I’ll never take: it’s common place to talk about English cards (versus) Japanese cards. I think the markets have limited overlap. Anyone talking bad about one or the other as a justification for the values probably has a profit motive or is insecure. They are both fantastic in their own ways and neither is lacking in ways to love it. In the case of Stadium Deoxys, people love to explain why it isn’t as valuable as it could be. “boring art, alternate versions, not known enough.” Meanwhile, it’s skyrocketing in value, impossible to find, and reaching new high prices every single time it is sold despite the fact that the original voices for it aren’t relevant to the effect anymore.

Stadium Deoxys is yet another badass English promo with huge potential. Sky is the limit. And this one is mint. Scott’s wasn’t and it got $1500! This won’t ever be a trophy khan in the same way it will never be a 2009 pontiac G6 with 120,000 miles. But its already knocking on the door of those price points. Only time will tell who decided to pay what prices for either.

Not sure what is happening in this thread. But I bought that Stadium challenge deoxys for $300. It sold for $1500 because of the dry market at the time. I also sold a PSA 8 copy for $600-800. That price disparity is a sign of a niche item. Where more established items like 1st ed base cards, japanese prize cards have fleshed out values.

Also, I own and have sold all cards mentioned in this thread. The markets, demand, and prices are completely different.

Thanks for everyone’s input and insight! I apologize if my post came across as an offer to sell; that definitely wasn’t my intention. I’m most likely going to get the card graded and just appreciate it for a while. It’s truly a unique part of my collection!
