Hi guys. I have a question for anyone who has used USPS tracking before or experienced something similar to my situation here.
I bought something on eBay on May 6th. The item was from the US and it was to be shipped to me in the UK through eBay’s Global Shipping Programme. Not usually one to buy from overseas as it usually ends up too expensive with postage and import charges, so I’m not very experienced with this. The tracking info has not been updated since the first day it appeared, May 8th. Below is what I see:
As you can see it says “This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date”, so does this mean they haven’t even received the item from the seller? Why would there even be a tracking number or any tracking info in that case? The item was a BIN so I can’t imagine it being a situation like an auction where the item sold too low and the seller decided not to send it.
I’ve contacted the seller and am awaiting a response, but if they have already sent it I imagine they won’t really be able to tell me anything more and I’ll have to go contact eBay. Any information from others with experience is appreciated.
You’re right. Just received a response from the seller saying they had an issue with the label and were unable to send it yet, but now they fixed it and upgraded the shipping apparently. From that response it seems to me like they completely forgot about it until just now when I messaged…
From the past 10 packages I have sent 8 showed up like that, they didnt show any tracking until the last day. USPS is just horrible and even more so when international.
I just ordered something from Japan and no tracking showed up until it hit customs here in the US.
So dont always assume the seller forgot it…although it is possible.
Also half of those I actually saw the mail carrier scan the barcode in front of me when I have them the box, yet it didn’t show up in their system. It has gotten much worse this year it seems. Last year it didnt happen to me once.
