Unreleased e-Reader cards?

There are at least 10 that existed at one point. Two in the case and at least 8 tied down in the try it for yourself stations

Cool addition to bulbapedia, good job

Yes, with a lot of test cards (?), I saved the pictures :

That sale was one of the reasons why this page finally got finished. Sample has always been in the back of my mind ever since that sale, and it felt so rewarding to finally get everything written out finally. That being said, this has to be the most disappointing page I have ever created, so if anyone ever manages to own these cards somehow, I would love a scan =D (and if you are up to it, a swipe of the e-Reader too =p)

I remember seeing that earlier this year on YJ! but I decided to pass and save my Poke’bucks for other items. Didn’t the lot sell for about a grand??

Do we have any information on who the buyer was?

@mavericknate I have cool stuff for bulbapedia

I remembered that there was a picture of the Pichu in the Trainers magazine Vol.11 (p. 57, 58 and 59).
So I “made” a picture of the Pichu card with a high quality scan 600 ppp (you can enlarge the picture):

I also found another article in the Trainers magazine Vol.12 (p. 62 and 63) showing another sample card (you can enlarge the picture):

Yes the guy is holding a Pichu card (with a different artwork) !
It was during the E3 2001.

I have his name on YJA : sellinglist.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/user/hohjiro

Evidence: this page gives the seller’s name and this page gives the buyer’s name

Nooooo, I was so ready to move away from Sample for a while, but now I’m too intrigued about this new mystery Pichu. If you don’t mind, can I use that scan of yours for Bulbapedia? It’s much better than that tragedy I have from that auction sale.

And thanks for posting the winner of that auction.

Edit: oh, this is already more of a mess. Here’s a shot from E3 2001, with the Dratini from Nintendo Space World translated into English. New Holy Grail, I guess

Of course you can use the scans

Wow, great find !

Is this website referencing the same cards?

Nah, that’s essentially a preview for e1, which was released on the same day as the e-Reader, December 1, 2001. It’s taking the cards from Expedition Base Set because those were available to do so. Not these crazy ones that don’t otherwise exist
