So, in a a previous life, I was a professional Tapper, and Galarian Mr Mime and Mr Rhyme border on offensive to the art form AND Black American culture. What keeps it from going there is that it’s not claiming anything about Tap, just shwoing it in an incorrect and generally accepted but false light. Sorry for the soap box y’all, so I’ll keep it small. I can’t hold it against TPC for not doing their research on the art form. No one does… And I suppose it could have gone way worse…
97 Speed is actually decent, especially when you take into account that Haxorus has a 147 Attack. I actually don’t think it’s an unloved Pokemon at all, to be honest. Haxorus is widely feared in competitive play. The thing is a monster.
This badass right here. I always thought this guy was so mystical since he was a roaming pokemon in the Ruby & Sapphire games. Yet somehow, he has never even had a holo card in the entire English TCG.
sure it’s decent but all the top threats had 100 during its debut gen,
which is hilariously sorry.
on top of that the only gen where it was actually in the top metagame and dropped off to lower tiers afterwards.
nowadays its completely nonexistant.
For me, tyrantrum is a bit confusing… Is it a tyrant with a bad attitude? Did cranidos and Rampardos (also cool dino mons) have a childhood rival that’s now a lot bigger but never got over losing at butts up? It does kinda look like a king tho, which is also cool, but I’m just a little confused by this mon.
Noticing no one still hasn’t mentioned the most unloved and underappreciated gen 1 gems grimer and muk, the forgotten slime lords who most often were forgotten from the old japanese vintage niche sets and who from gen 1-6 only got 1 ultra rare even though being the og badbutts and even in relatively big role in anime too, so if my not at all biased opinion is ever asked they deserve the top place on throne of most unloved pokemon who deserve so much more than what world has ever given to them
Tappers are AKA American Tap Dancers, though, because it’s percussion as well, we’re moving away from “tap dancer” as a term. whatever. The point is, that it’s mostly just insulting that, as with most American art forms, the history is always white-washed… Galar is a representation of the UK, yes? Galarian Mr Mime and Rhyme are tap dancers. Interesting, and not so bad. BUT, the other characteristics make it more the stereotypical representation of the art, combined with it’s non-american locale, and that’s just another reminder of how misunderstood Tap is. BUT I can be offended, and it shouldn’t necessarily matter to others, it was just a post about why I Do not like a certain mon. You should be free to like it, and I nor anyone else should hold it against you for this or any other reason. =)
