I´ll start; Snubbull.
Ever since it came out, it seemed to me as a Pokémon that would be on par with Togepi ect. But it seems like nobody cares for it and it get´s mentioned never. Shame really.
It might still be “new”, but Lokix.
It’s a cool Kamen Rider themed bug with some useable stats & a decent movepool. I wouldn’t expect it to be super popular, but there doesn’t seem to really be any fanfare at all.

I have to give it to Arcanine. I know it has a fair amount of popularity but nowhere as much love as it deserves. We’re talking about a giant majestic fire dog and pokemon makes it an uncommon out of the gate….

I feel like im gonna list off ones that o feel arnt popular but then ill be getting the sus face from people, and the have you been living under a rock yes they are popular.
Ones i feel are popular but not like plague rat, overrated lizard, eevee popular but def deserve more love?

Love most of these as well. Vulpix and Sandshrew very iconic. Rockruff seemed primed to take off as well, but, no.

I remember we had a nother discussion about the best designed pokemon. And someone brought up Eevee and how hit all the boxes for appealing design and i feel like vulpix hits those same boxes. Fantastic design that easily translates into various forms of non tcg merch.
And for me the Shinx line is the best designed cat we have

Probably gigalith. A solid rock type 3 stage, but didn’t get enough recognition past unova. Like a gimmick for it probably a mega could help..

I also came to second this. His arrival to pokemon brought a lot of excitement as steel types were new. Him and Scizor were clearly the most popular at the time.
Lokix is the best new Mon in 5 years!

All Tapus and Ultra beasts. I love them, I love gen 7. This gen was really fun and had a strong identity.
