UK customs charges from Japan?

I was just wondering if anybody knew how much i would have to pay for customs charges for a Japanese booster box which I’ve paid like £22 for? If I don’t have to pay anything does anybody know the amount that I can order without having to pay a customs charge?

I know for certain that a 50 dollar Merchandise package gets charged with customs fees (10 or 15% maybe). So I guess you could expect a couple of pounds charge, unless the threshold is like 25 or something.

Nevermind that shit, read the real deal here:

Thanks for the help, looks like just VAT if I’m on anything more than 2 boxes as I can see being able to get away without paying when it’s one

Hey i order a lot of stuff from Japan to England. There are two different taxes - import duty and import VAT. For a booster box costing £22 then you shouldn’t have to pay anything. I think import duty is 2.5% but they will only charge duty if the charge is over £9, meaning you have to spend over £320 to make them charge import duty.

Also bear in mind, that when they charge duties that you have to pay, royal mail or parcel force will hold on to the parcel until you pay the charge - and they will charge you £8 for the pleasure of doing this.

Ive had a few things come from japan recently, costing £60 and havent got charged anything. So you can probably buy three boxes and be ok.
