I have never seen one for sale and couldn’t find any other info besides our rarity master list. How often do these come out of hiding? PSA pop report is 4.
I previously owned that card. They do not come out basically almost ever. It was not even for sale, I had to trade for it and I had to track down a specific card the owner was looking for after they continued to turn down larger cash offers.
I agree with Faz and would add these are too rare for their own good. I’ve owned the only PSA 9 Japanese 2001 Tropical Wind for almost 15 years, and most buyers either don’t know it exists or don’t know what to offer because it has no comps. I believe the Wind/Breeze is the only unique art from the set, emphasizing the point even more how the cards are too rare for their own good.
Thanks to you both for the info. @smpratte Do you think that it not being a unique art makes it less valuable outside of the obvious rarity? A small tropical speck on an otherwise common VS card. And a big contrast to the tropical winds or other unique cards.
There is no denying the added value of unique art but it’s not a binary, there are people who appreciate the rarity and history of pretty much everything.
There are 15-20 or so english copies across 2001 and 2002. In addition to American participants, European particpants from countries like Sweden and the Netherlands also receieved English cards to play with.
The only languages available across both years are English, Japanese (identical to VS for everything but Tropical Wind), German, Italian, and French.
These amazing cards keep being slightly outside of my budget . Is it too hard to ask for someone to take a 99% dive in value for some no name casual collectors ?
